Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these games must be played in teams?

Answer: Pictionary

In the game of Pictionary, the object of the game is to guess words. One player will draw a picture to get another player or players on the same team to guess the word. Each turn is timed, and correct guesses mean points.
2. Which of these games needs dice?

Answer: Yahtzee

Yahtzee actually needs five dice. A player will roll out the dice to try and get different combinations to get points. A player gets a total of three rolls and can save dice from being rolled. A yahtzee in the game is worth fifty points and occurs when all five dice are the same.
3. Which of these games starts with a murder?

Answer: Clue (Cluedo)

Of course, this is not a real murder. The regular Clue game has six suspects, six possible murder weapons and nine rooms where the murder was possibly committed. It is up to you to figure out which combination is the solution to the crime. Clue was originally called Cluedo in the United Kingdom.
4. Which of these games uses cars for game pieces?

Answer: The Game of Life

The Game of Life is supposed to follow a person's life. The car holds pegs for people within a family. Each car will hold a husband or a wife for the player. Children are sometimes born throughout the game and also are held in the car.
5. Which of these games allows you to visit Jolly and Lord Licorice?

Answer: Candyland

The world of Candyland is home to many different characters with candy names, but some names have changed throughout the years. The game pieces are shaped like gingerbread men. The route through the board is made of colored squares with special squares to visit the characters. Drawing cards from a deck is how a player travels the board.
6. Which of these games is about finding words?

Answer: Boggle

Each game of Boggle presents a new board of letters using blocks of letters that you shake. A normal game has sixteen letters in four rows of four. You have a short time to try and find as many words as possible using connecting letters.
7. Which of these games has houses and hotels to build?

Answer: Monopoly

A monopoly is when you have everything of the same type. In this game, you want to collect all of the same color group to build houses and hotels. You can charge other players money so that they can go bankrupt. You cannot build houses or hotels on utilities or railroads.
8. Which of these games has kings and queens?

Answer: Chess

There are two sides in chess, black and white. Each side has pawns, rooks, knights, and bishops, but they only have one king and one queen. You want to capture the king using the other pieces. This is called a checkmate, and it ends the game.
9. Which of these games allows you to send other players' pawns back to the start?

Answer: Sorry!

Each player wants to send all their four pawns from start to home. When a pawn lands on the same square as a pawn from another team, they can send that pawn back to start. This is why the name of the game is called "Sorry". The game is similar to Parcheesi, once called the Royal Game of India.
10. Which of these games is like this quiz?

Answer: Trivial Pursuit

In Trivial Pursuit, you ask questions like this quiz. Each player's piece is like an empty pie. For some questions, you can get a pie piece for a correct answer. If you do not know the answer to the question, you lose your turn. Once you have a full pie, you may be able to win the game.
