1. In 1993, Mr Blobby held the number one spot in the UK Singles Chart over the Christmas period, with what song?

The song was Mr Blobby's first and only number one hit and knocked Meatloaf off the number one spot on the 11th December 1993. In 1995 "Christmas In Blobbyland" was released, but failed to reach the top 20 peaking at number 36.

Between 1983 and 1985 Roland Rat had 3 UK hits. Roland Rat was introduced to TV-am in 1983 as its ratings went down and was said to be "the only rat to join a sinking ship." He was certainly one of the reasons the ratings improved.

The song was basically a remix of the TV programme's theme song, and remained in the top 75 in the UK for 29 weeks.

The song spent 3 weeks at number 1 in the UK over Christmas 2000 and was the 10th best selling single of the decade in the UK. The song was also number 1 in Australia in September 2001. Bob the Builder had a second number 1 a year later with a cover of Lou Bega's "Mambo No. 5."

Clive Dunn was only 51 when he sang this song, but dressed to look as if he was a grandad. When he played LCpl Jones in "Dad's Army," he was only 48 when it started, and was one of the youngest actors on set playing one of the oldest.
