Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. He's going to ask for a glass of milk.

The boy in the illustrated story, sitting outside of his house, offers the mouse (dressed in blue overalls) a cookie, and of course, cookies are best eaten with a glass of cold milk.
2. He'll probably ask you for a straw.

The boy invites the mouse into the house, and gets him a glass of milk from the refrigerator. Of course, "When you give him the milk, he'll probably ask you for a straw."
3. He'll ask for a napkin.

Eating a crumbly cookie and drinking a glass of milk that is taller than you is messy work. The boy readily gives the mouse a napkin, but maybe wiping his whiskers isn't enough?
4. He'll want to look in a mirror.

Carried into the bathroom, the mouse needs to check if he has acquired a milk mustache while drinking his fill. Only, instead of finding a milk mustache, "he might notice his hair needs a trim."
5. He'll probably ask for a pair of nail scissors.

Nail scissors wouldn't help YOU trim your hair, but the mouse is able to give himself a very nice haircut... which leaves a big mess on the floor, of course!
6. He'll want a broom to sweep up.

The mouse cleans up the mess he made trimming his hair, but then, "He might get carried away and sweep every room in the house."
7. He'll sweep and wash all the floors.

What an industrious little mouse! Of course, all that work is very tiring.
8. He'll probably want to take a nap.

"You'll have to fix up a little box for him, with a blanket and a pillow."

"He'll crawl in, make himself comfortable and fluff the pillow a few times."
9. He'll ask you to read him a story.

"So, you'll read to him from one of your books, and he'll ask to see the pictures." After all, the BEST stories (like this one) have wonderful pictures to look at as you read.
10. He'll ask for paper and crayons.

"When he looks at the pictures, he'll get so excited he'll want to draw one of his own."

I guess when you get excited about something, it can be very hard to sleep.
11. He'll draw a picture.

The mouse creates a beautiful picture of his whole family, including his mom, dad, and brother and sister, along with their house in the trunk of a tree.
12. He'll want to sign his name with a pen.

Every great artist should sign their work! But what to do with the picture now?
13. He'll need scotch tape.

After signing his picture, "Then he'll want to hang his picture on your refrigerator."

Scotch tape will keep his picture securely fastened to the door of the fridge, so that the boy can see it whenever he gets hungry (or thirsty for a cold glass of milk).
14. He'll be reminded that he is thirsty.

"He'll hang up his drawing and stand back to look at it. Looking at the refrigerator will remind him that he's thirsty." And we all know what the mouse liked so much at the beginning of the story!
15. He'll want another glass of milk.

Just like when he was given a cookie and needed a glass of milk at the beginning of the story, "chances are if he asks for a glass of milk, he's going to want a cookie to go with it."
