When Urthstripe saw Ferhago's son, he couldn't remember where he had seen his eyes, as Ferhago's son also has blue eyes.

Answer: "Silly, how could the grandfather of a hundred-year-old mouse say anything?"

One of my favourite parts in the whole "Redwall" series! Martin and Gonff were best of friends during the book "Mossflower" and also in "The Legend of Luke".

3. In "Eulalia", how does Vizka Longtooth die?

Answer: cracked spine

Vizka Longtooth was the captain of a ship called the Bludgullet. Gorath the flame, a young badger, vowed that he would slay Vizka, because Vizka killed his family and took Gorath as slave. Gorath escaped and in the end he killed Vizka by snapping his spine.

4. Which of these names does Gonff not make up for himself?

Answer: Prince of Swordwielders

Gonff is a Mouse based on Brian Jacques as a kid. He loses his heart to a young Mousemaid named Columbine and they end up marrying; they have a son called Gonflet.

Answer: Ants

"Mattimeo" is one of my favourite books. Several times during this book, a dibbun called Rollo keeps accidentally finding all the answers to the riddles! In "The Pearls of Lutra", Rollo ends up being the Abbey Recorder.

Answer: damsons

From the prologue of "The Bellmaker". When a young mouse named Jerril asks an old squirrel (Rufe Brush) what is in Pearl Queen Pudding, the squirrel says to ask his mate the hedgehog (Durry Quill).

Answer: A pine marten

Emperor Ublaz can hypnotize any creature with his eyes, which is why they call him "Mad Eyes", although nobody ever calls him that to his face.

Answer: Klitch

Although they are all in the book "Salamandastron", only Klitch is Ferhago's son. Klitch has blue eyes like his father.

9. From "Triss" what does Kroova find in the slave rooms?

Answer: A mousebabe

Kroova was an otter from the book "Triss". He met a young ottermaid named Sleeve when she was about to be killed by a rat. Kroova killed the rat and instantly fell for her. The group of warriors killed off the enemies and Kroova found a Mousebabe in the slave rooms. Kroova and Sleeve married and Kroova called the Mousebabe "Freedom" because of the freedom they won for the slaves.

10. What is the name of the ship in which Timballisto was an oarslave until he was freed by Martin and his friends?

Answer: the Bloodwake

The Bloodwake was renamed the Wuddship by Dinny the Mole. Seeing as Dinny is a Mole, it was said as "Wuddship" not "Woodship". Gonff said he was going to called it the Columbine, but Trubbs and co. protested, saying "Does Columbine really have a bottom made of wood?"

11. The Island of Terramort is home to Badrang the stoat.

Answer: False

Badrang lives at Marshank. Gabool the Wild lives at Terramort.

12. What does Salamandastron mean?

Answer: Mountain of the fire lizard

Although Salamandastron was a volcano before the Hares and Badgers made a home there, Salamandastron means Mountain of the fire lizard.

Answer: Arven

Only Arven is actually a Dibbun! He was a "terror" and nobody would have guessed he would become Abbey Warrior!

Answer: sails

The trees of the forest are ships. This riddle was told in a dream by Martin the Warrior to Joesph the Bellmaker.

Brian Jacques even travelled the world at just 15! He wrote the "Redwall" series for the children at the Liverpool School for the Blind. Everyday, he would take them to the park and read them a chapter or two. The children loved the stories so much he got them published and he is now one of the most popular authors in the world!
