Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the goblin gang that was transporting softnose guns and batteries to power them?

Answer: B'wa Kell

The B'wa Kell were a group of goblins that would commit petty crimes and terrorize anyone who got too far out of Haven City. That was until Opal Koboi and Briar Cudgeon needed them for a plot to take over the world.
2. What is the name of the goblin prison?

Answer: Howler's Peak

Howler's Peak is prison for goblins. Julius Root used this as a bargaining chip to get Mulch Diggums to do what he wanted, because otherwise he'd be sent there for a couple of centuries.
3. What was the name of the apartment building that Luc Carrere stayed in?

Answer: Saint Germain

Apparently one room for one month in the Saint Germain cost more than most Parisians made in one year. But that was no problem for Luc Carrere, with his new money supply from Cudgeon. The other choices for this question were all taken from landmarks or streets mentioned in the book.
4. Who said this: "I know where northern Russia is"?

Answer: Briar Cudgeon

Briar snaps this line at Opal during a conversation they have in the basement of the Koboi Labratories. Opal is informing Briar of Luc Carrere's recent event. "Everyone survived, but as you predicted, Root has called off the alert. And now the commander has agreed to personally escort the humans to northern Russia, inside the Arctic Circle" says Opal. Briar, as sensitive as he is, still didn't want anyone getting the best of him.
5. What is the name of the chute that leads just north of Murmansk?

Answer: E93

Chute E93 opens up about twenty miles north of Murmansk, quite a walk even without sub-zero temperatures, extreme wind, radioactive air, glaciers, and bloodthirsty goblins.
6. According to the book, what is the title given to the head of the Mafiya?

Answer: Menidzher

Stroganina is apparently a Russian dish fed to Artemis Senior, Britva is the name of the Menidzherm of the Mafiya, and Irelandskii is the Russian term used to refer to Artemis Senior.
7. While we're on the topic of Russian words, what is "Hello son" in Russian?

Answer: Zdravstvutye syn

Artemis translates the wording on the sign around his father's neck in an MPG file sent to him by Vassikin, the Russian who kidnapped his father. Apparently, "zdravstvutye syn" is Russian for Hello son.
8. What is the number of the detention cell in which Artemis was kept on his first visit to Haven City?

Answer: 4

Periodically throughout the book you will see the name of a location in bold letters. At the beggining of chapter 4, the letters are as follows: The Lower Elements, Haven City, Police Plaza, Detention Cell 4. Artemis then awakens and is questioned about the B'wa Kell by Holly and Julius.
9. Which goblin caught Artemis and Mulch off guard in Koboi Labratories?

Answer: Nyle

Nyle was having a lucky day--promoted to lieutenant, single-handedly capturing the intruders--it was all too good. But thanks to an extreme gas attack on Mulch's part, Nyle's streak was over. Scalene and Sputa were both generals in the goblin army, and Aymon was shot by Nyle over the Mayak Train, securing his new title.
10. Artemis shot his father.

Answer: False

Artemis' plan called for some of his blood to be placed inside a hydrosion shell and fired at his father. The hydrosion shell would burst on impact, resulting in what looked like a fatal wound and major loss of blood, but was actually just a startled father and blood everywhere. However Artemis didn't fire the shot, Butler did.
