Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. ANIMALS can be a very amusing topic especially if you're on a Ferris wheel with one. Which animals, sitting bright-eyed and "otter tailed" in the first gondola, don't need any coaxing to ride the wheel?

Answer: Hamsters

Surely the Ferris wheel looked like a giant hamster wheel to those two hamsters so they very eagerly got aboard.
Hamster wheels are actually exercise toys to help keep your small pets, which are generally confined to a cage, exercised. They will run on the wheel several times a day. Pet gerbils, mice, hamsters and other rodents use the exercise wheel when the thought suits them. Hamsters are a type of rodent which is a popular pet. Hamsters belong to the Muridae family. There are different species of hamster, some of which include the Chinese dwarf, Syrian, golden and teddy bear.
2. A pair of BRAIN TEASERS are sitting in gondola number two pondering a numbers question that has to do with this Ferris wheel. On this quiz's Ferris wheel there are twenty gondolas numbered in order, in a clockwise direction. Starting with number one and going in a clockwise direction, every third gondola (including gondola number one) is blue. Starting at number two, going in a clockwise direction, every third gondola is green, including gondola number two. The remaining gondolas are red. How many gondolas are red?

Answer: six

There are six red gondolas,

20 gondolas include: #1, #4, #7, #10, #13, #16, #19 (= 7 blue gondolas)(add 3 to each number to arrive at the next blue one, starting with #1)
20 gondolas include: #2, #5, #8, #11, #14, #17, #20 (= 7 green gondolas)(add three to each number to arrive at the next green one, starting with #2)
20 gondolas minus 7 blue ones = 13 gondolas. The remaining 13 gondolas minus 7 green ones = 6 remaining gondolas, which are red.
20 gondolas include #3, #6, #9, #12, #15 and #18 which were not used as blue or green gondolas. Therefore there are 6 red gondolas.

Mathematical cross checking: 7+7+6=20 gondolas
