The loss of an eye has a definite adverse effect on depth perception because two eyes are essential to perceiving an object or scene in three dimensions as well as estimating the distance of an object. When I played amateur baseball, the fact that I had vision in only one eye frequently caused me to swing late at pitches until I trained myself to adjust.

Answer: Garry Kasparov

"Deep Blue" was designed by IBM. In game one of their 1996 six game match, Deep Blue won. But Kasparov won three of the next five games and scored a draw in the other two.
