This is the most blatant type of plagiarism, which almost anyone can recognize as unethical.
2. You copy a long quote directly from a web site and use it in the Interesting Info section of a quiz without quotation marks or attribution. Is this plagiarism?

Answer: Yes

3. You copy just one sentence directly from a web site and use it in the Interesting Info section of a quiz without quotation marks or attribution. Is this plagiarism?

4. You copy a long quote from a web site into your Interesting Info. Then you change a few words from the quote, substituting synonyms, and change the order of some of the sentences. You don't use quote marks or cite the website. Is this plagiarism?

Answer: Yes

Plagiarism doesn't have to be direct copying. In this example, the ideas are still someone else's, and you've made only minor changes. In addition, you haven't cited your source.
5. You copy a quote directly from a book and use it in the Interesting Info section of a quiz with quote marks and attribution. Is this plagiarism?

Answer: No

If you use ANY direct quotes from any source in your quiz, you must enclose the quote in quotation marks AND cite the source of the quote.
6. You use a direct quote from a website in your quiz. You cite the website but don't use quotation marks around the quote. Is this plagiarism?

Answer: Yes

You must enclose all directly-copied material in quotation marks.
7. You find some material on a website and use it as an idea for a quiz. The material just inspires you, you don't use any material directly from the page. You write your quiz entirely in your own words, and use no direct quotes from the original site. You don't cite your source. Is this plagiarism?

Answer: No

If you rewrite the material entirely in your own words, you are not plagiarizing. But this does not mean switching a few sentences around or changing a few words- it means rewriting the passage with obvious understanding.
8. Why is plagiarism a problem for Quizzyland?

Answer: All of these

These are just some of the reasons that we cannot allow plagiarized quizzes online.
9. What should you do if you find an incidence of plagiarism in a quiz?

Answer: Send a correction notice

If you send a correction notice, the editors can see it and take appropriate action.
10. Repeated incidences of plagiarism can lead to suspension of your Quizzyland account.

Answer: True

It's happened before. We will warn first-time offenders, giving them the benefit of the doubt, but further plagiarism can result in suspension and deletion of all your quizzes. Don't do it!
