6. Entertainment: In the old Perry Como song, what did Delaware?

Answer: a brand New Jersey

The clue should have been in the spelling. The whole song is made up of word play on names of U.S. states.

Answer: judge at O.J. Simpson's trial

At the time I wrote these questions Ito and the rest of the trial crew were on TV every day.

Answer: quail

My authority for this one is Heinzel, Fitter and Parslow: 'Birds of Britain and Europe'.

Answer: Rudyard Kipling

Kipling's son John was a Lieutenant in the Irish Guards and was 18 years old when he died in 1915. His body remained unidentified during his father's lifetime. Thanks to the continuing good work of what is now the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, John Kipling's remains have (within the last few years) been identified. (The other three choices were all war poets; Brooke and Owen both died in WWI).

Answer: Eleven

The eleven are made up thus: 4 in Korea, 4 to Australians in Viet Nam, 2 in the Falklands and one in Sarawak in 1965 to Gurkha Lance Corporal Rambahadur Limbu.
