Answer: South Africa

Officially known as the Republic of South Africa, it is the only country in the world to border both the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Its three capitals are Cape Town (legislative), Pretoria (executive) and Bloemfontein (judicial). After the country emerged stronger from its dark Apartheid past (a policy that discriminated among the non-White population), it is now known as the Rainbow Nation, a tribute to its multi-cultural diversity.

Its eleven official languages include Zulu, Xhosa, Afrikaans, and English.
2. City from where the Titanic set sail on its maiden voyage.

Answer: Southampton

Southampton is found in the county of Hampshire in England. It is a major port of the UK. When the RMS Titanic set off on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, it set sail from Southampton with the destination being New York City. The port has also been the home base for other well known liners like the RMS Queen Mary and the RMS Queen Elizabeth.

South Sudan is one of the newest countries in the world having gained independence from Sudan only in 2011. It is bordered by Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The undivided Sudan had gained independence from Britain in 1956 but the country went through a long period of political instability and was plagued by civil unrest.

This finally culminated with South Sudan becoming an independent, sovereign state in 2011.

South America is the fourth largest continent after Asia, Africa, and North America. The continent is bordered by two oceans - the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean. Its largest and most populous country is Brazil. The Pampas are a large prairie type geographical region spread across Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. Patagonia is located along the southernmost tip of the continent covering both Chile and Argentina.

It is geographically diverse in that it includes glaciers as well as deserts.

The South China Sea stretches from the Malacca Strait to the Strait of Taiwan in the Pacific Ocean. It is of utmost strategic importance given its location along an important trade route and also holds huge fishing reserves. The sea was thus named by early European explorers as it provided a trade route to China.

In recent times, countries like the Philippines and Indonesia have disputed the name as they believe it implies the sea, and a few remote islands within it, are under the sovereignty of China. China itself calls the sea, the South Sea.
6. Home to Mount Rushmore.

Answer: South Dakota

South Dakota is located in the Midwestern region of the United States of America. The state is named after the native American tribes of Dakota and Lakota. Its major tourist attraction is Mount Rushmore. In the early 20th century, Gutzon Borglum carried out the project of sculpting the faces of four US Presidents into the granite face of the rock.

The four presidents are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

The country of New Zealand comprises two major islands - South Island and North Island. The two islands are separated by the Cook Strait. The South Island is the larger of the two but holds only 23% of the total country's population. New Zealand's highest point, Mount Cook, is also located here. The major cities on the South Island are Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill.

The US state of South Carolina was named after the English king, Charles I. Carolus is the Latin form of the name Charles. During the US Civil War, South Carolina was the first state to secede. It re-entered the union in 1868.

The history of Korea dates back to at least the 11th century BC. The Korean peninsula was ruled by various empires till it was annexed by Japan in 1910. This continued until Japan was defeated by the Allied Forces at the end of World War II. The Korean peninsula was then occupied by both Soviet and American forces.

The southern part became the Republic of Korea (South Korea) while the northern was the Democratic Republic of Korea (North Korea). The Korean War broke out in the 1950s leading to the border between them being one of the most militarized in the world.
