1. The East China Sea and the South China Sea run along the east and south-east coasts of China. The two seas are not contiguous, but which body of water connects them?

Answer: The Taiwan Strait

The Taiwan (or Formosa) Strait lies between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland. It runs the entire length of the western Taiwan coast and it averages 90km wide. It connects the South China Sea to the East China Sea. The Sea of Japan is west of the main Japanese islands. The Yellow Sea borders northern China and the Korean peninsula in the east. Answer: Israel and Jordan

The Dead Sea has its historical roots in the Bible being the birthplace of King Herod. Located in the Jordan Rift Valley, the Dead Sea is over 400 metres below sea level and was so named due to the lack of life living it in. However, there is life in the Dead Sea; it is mainly bacteria and fungi.
