Bergen, Essex, and Middlesex counties all have a population over 750,000! 6. Which county is the smallest in area?

Hudson County is the smallest county in area in New Jersey, and one of the smallest in the country, even though it ranks high in population, due to cities like Jersey City and Bayonne. Camden and Gloucester are the smallest in the south.
7. Which is the only county to touch both the Delaware River and Atlantic Ocean?

Answer: Burlington

Burlington County borders a long segment of the Delaware, and barely touches the Atlantic Ocean in its southern tip. Burlington is also the largest county in size in New Jersey. Atlantic and Ocean Counties border the Atlantic on their east side, while Monmouth borders it on its east and north side (the north resides on Raritan Bay).
8. Which two towns are the most populated in Mercer County?

Answer: Trenton and Hamilton

Trenton and Hamilton are also two of the nine most populated cities in the state. Ewing and White Horse are northern suburbs of Trenton, while East Windsor is on the other side of the county, near Middlesex County.

Answer: Atlantic

Salem and Cumberland Counties border the bay, Atlantic County only borders the Atlantic Ocean, while Cape May County borders both. Salem is the mouth of the Delaware River, where the river flows into the Delaware Bay.
10. Lake Hopatcong, the largest lake in New Jersey, borders Morris and Sussex counties.

Answer: True

The second largest lake is Greenwood Lake, which is shared by both New Jersey and New York. The lake is in the northern part of the state, not quite in the 'mountains' in Sussex county, but in the Highlands of North Central New Jersey.
