Answer: Oakdale

Oakdale is home to one of only three Hershey's chocolate factories in North America. The whole southeast end of town smells like chocolate!
2. What landmark in Sacramento, California is the chain music retailer Tower Records named after?

Answer: The Tower Theater

The first Tower Records is right across the street from the Tower Theater. Also at that intersection are Tower Liquors, Tower Books, and Tower Video.
3. Which city has never been the California state capital?

Answer: Fairfield

The current capital is Sacramento and has been since the 1880's. Other past capitals include Monterey and San Francisco
4. What is written on "The Modesto Arch" located at 'I' and 8th streets in Modesto, California?

Built in 1912, a contest was held to determine what the arch would say. "Nobody's Got Modesto's Goat" came in first place, but luckily the second place entry was used instead.

Although Sacramento and Stockton are far from the coast, deep channels through the Sacramento/San Joaquin delta allow thriving seaports for both cities.

The largest living thing on earth is the giant sequoia, a relative to the redwood. The largest giant sequoia lies in Sequoia National Park.

Answer: Mt. Whitney

At 14,495 feet, it is also the highest peak in the contiguous United States
8. Which island in San Francisco Bay is man made?

Answer: Treasure Island

Built for the military, it is connected to Yerba Buena island and is completely flat.
9. Which of these cities is not located on California State Highway 99?

Answer: Woodland

Although 99 comes close to Woodland, it still misses it by a few miles. Stockton is on both I-5 and 99.
10. What city is "Star Wars" creator George Lucas originally from?

Answer: Modesto

The movie "American Graffiti" (filmed in Petaluma) was about George's last few nights in Modesto before he went to USC for film school. He now lives near Mill Valley at Skywalker Ranch.
