7. Marshall Islands

8. Saint Kitts and Nevis

Located in the West Indies, the Federation of Saint Christopher and Nevis, or simply Saint Kitts and Nevis, occupies an area of 261 square kilometers (101 square miles).

The country consists of two main islands - the larger Saint Kitts island and the smaller Nevis island. The country gained its independence from the UK in 1983.
9. Maldives

Occupying an area of 300 square kilometers (120 square miles), the Republic of Maldives is an archipelago that is located in the Indian Ocean.

The nation's economy relies heavily on tourism. However, the tourism industry is threatened by climate change and rising sea levels.
10. Malta

Occupying an area of 316 square kilometers (122 square kilometers), the Republic of Malta is an island nation in the Mediterranean Sea.

The nation consists of three main islands - Malta, Gozo, and Comino. The country's capital city, Valetta, was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980.
