Answer: Saint Paul

Minneapolis-Saint Paul is centred on the Mississippi, Minnesota and St. Croix rivers in Minnesota, and they are commonly referred to as the Twin Cities. As of the time this quiz was written, Minneapolis has the state's largest population and Saint Paul is the state capital.

Nonthaburi is part of the greater Bangkok Metropolitan Area, lying on the Chao Phraya River. It is almost as highly urbanised as Bangkok, and the two districts function as one.

"Cities of London and Westminster" is a borough constituency including the City of London, the financial centre, and most of the City of Westminster, the political centre of the UK. It was created in 1950 and is represented by a single Member of Parliament.

Albury-Wodonga incorporates the Australian cities of Albury and Wodonga, which lie either side of the Murray River. Albury lies in New South Wales north of the river, and Wodonga is in Victoria. As a result they have different state and local governments.

Because the area is much closer to Melbourne than to Sydney, the dominant culture, television, sport, etc, is that of Victoria. The Australian Federal Government often treats Albury-Wodonga as a single region, as do most tourists to the area.

In 1931 the Vietnamese cities of Saigon and Cholon merged to form a single city named Saigon-Cholon. In 1956 the city became known simply as Saigon.
The capture of Saigon by Vietnamese forces in 1975 was immediately preceded by the mass evacuation of American civilian and military personnel, and large numbers of civilians along with tens of thousands of South Vietnamese civilians.
In 1976 it became Ho Chi Minh City after merging with Gia Định Province.

From 1870 to 1876 Manchester was the county seat of Chesterfield County, located on the south bank of the James River opposite Richmond, which was the Virginia state capital. In the 18th century it was a port of entry for slave ships.

Gotham City is the fictional home of Batman, who is real, like Santa. Metropolis is the fictional home of Superman, who is obviously quite silly and not real at all.
In the 1970s and 1980s DC Comics described them as twin cities located on opposite sides of a large bay, linked by the Metro-Narrows Bridge.

Salford is a metropolitan borough in the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester. It consists of a collection of small towns, none of which is called Salford.
The close proximity of Manchester and Salford to each other, their very similar cultures, and sprawling urban development, has meant that Salford is now often regarded as part of the city of Manchester.

Budapest is the capital of Hungary and is one of the most beautiful and livable cities in Europe. Budapest became a single city with the unification in November 1873 of Buda on the west bank of the river Danube, and Pest on the east bank. The smaller city of Óbuda on the east bank was also part of the unification.

Wuchang was amalgamated with Hankou and Hanyang in 1971 to form the city of Wuhan. In December 1944 the area was devastated by allied bombing raids, and prior to the construction of the Three Gorges Dam in 2008, was subject to frequent widespread and destructive floods.
Today in 2017 it is the political, economic, financial, cultural, educational and transportation centre of central China.
