The Benders operated an inn in Kansas and murdered their victims by hitting them on the head with a hammer through a canvas wall, then dumping the bodies in a hole in the floor of the dining room.

Answer: The Reno's

On October6, 1866 the Reno Brothers robbed a train near their hometown of Seymour, Indiana, getting away with $80,000. Over the next two years they robbed several more trains in the area, as well as banks in neighboring states. The Renos were captured in July, 1868, and lynched on July 22, 1868.

They all served short sentences in Leavenworth.
