Norway was invaded on the 9th April 1940, the same day as Denmark, in the military manouver known as "Weserübung".
2. What was the name of the Nazi cruiser that was sunk by the outdated guns of Oscarsborg Fortress during the invasion?

Answer: Blücher

The Blücher was one of the most modern cruisers in the Nazi navy, and was meant to penetrate the defences of the Oslo Fjord. Over 1,000 men were killed when the ship sank.

Answer: Vidkun Quisling

Quisling claimed that he did what he did because he felt that Norway would only be safe if under Nazi rule.
