Answer: Chicago, Illinois

The Columbian Exposition celebrated the 400th anniversary of the arrival of Christopher Columbus in the New World. New York, Washington, and St. Louis were all in the running for hosting the exposition, but a group of Chicago businessmen convinced the United States Congress to choose Chicago as the site of the exposition.

Answer: Pan-American Exposition

President McKinley was shot at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York. He was shot by anarchist Leon Czolgosz on September 6, 1901. He died 10 days later.
The Great Lakes Expo was held in 1936 in Cleveland, the Pan-Pacific Expo was in San Francisco in 1915, and the America's Expo was held in San Diego in 1935.

Fort Dearborn was named for Henry Dearborn who was the Secretary of War from 1801-1809. It was burned to the ground in the war of 1812 but rebuilt in 1816. Another fire destroyed most of the buildings in 1857 and the buildings that remained were mostly destroyed in the Great Chicago Fire. A replica of Fort Dearborn was built for the fair.

Hua Mei is the first giant panda born in the United States to survive to adulthood. She was born on August 21, 1999 at the San Diego Zoo.

The Oregon Zoo was previously known as the Washington Park Zoo. Packy is one of the zoo's oldest residents and certainly the largest. He was born on April 14, 1962 and weighed 225 pounds. Packy now weighs over 13,000 pounds and stands 10 1/2 feet tall at his shoulder.

If you are afraid of mice, Univeral Studios and the Islands of Adventure combine for over 150 different designs and Kennedy Space Center has about 40. Sea World straggles in with 30 pennies spread throughout their park.
