To keen means to wail or lament loudly, normally for the deceased. The word may come from the Celtic word 'koinyo', meaning to wail; it may also come from the Hebrew word kinah.

An ewer is a jug or pitcher that was commonly used to bring water to a washtub, before faucets(taps) became the norm.
14. What is cerate?

Answer: A cream

Cerate is a hard, oily, wax-based solid formerly applied to the skin directly or on dressings. It comes from the Latin word 'cera', which means wax. Irate, orate, urate, grate and crate are all also words. And while erate is not a word (as far as I know), aerate, berate, cerate and derate are words. As you can see, rate is a very good word to find in 'Boggle'.
15. What does it mean to rive?

Answer: Break

To rive means to break apart by means of blows or cleaves. It comes from the Middle English word 'riven', which has a similar meaning. By the way, zyzzyva is a tropical weevil that is harmful to many tropical plants.
