1. What are the slain warriors of Valhalla called?

Answer: Einherjar

The Einherjar are the dead warriors that were chosen by the Valkyries to reside in Valhalla. They fought all day and feasted all night awaiting the Ragnarok. Lyngvi was an island on Lake Amavartnir where the wolf Fenrir was chained. Folkvang was the part of Asgard where Freyja's hall was located. Skuld was one of the three norns that decided the fate of men.
2. What is the battle at the end of time called?

Answer: Ragnarok

The battle at the end is called the Ragnarok or Destruction of the Powers. This is a final battle between the gods and the giants that would involve all of creation. Almost all life is destroyed and the nine worlds are submerged. Audumla was a cow that was created out of ice in Ginnungagap.

Heidrun was a goat that supplied never ending mead for the Einherjar. Valaskjalf is the Shelf of the Slain, also known as Odin's hall in Asgard.
3. Where does the Ragnarok take place?

Answer: Vigrid

The battle of Ragnarok would take place on a vast plain called Vigrid. Jotunheim is the land of the giants. Niflheim is the world of the dead. Midgard is the middle world.

Vigrid was a vast plain that spanned 120 leagues in every direction.
5. What is Valhalla?

Answer: Hall of the Slain

Valhalla is where the Einherjar would go to await the Ragnarok. Valhalla has 540 doors and it is said that when it is time to fight, 800 warriors will come out of each door. The roof is made of shields, the rafters of spears, and the benches of breast plates.

The Shore of the Corpses, Nastrond, is located in Hel and is where Nidhogg gnaws on the dead. The Hill of Healing, also known as the Lyfjaberg, was a mountain located next to Menglad's hall in the land of the giants. The Water Halls or Fensalir was Frigg's hall in Asgard.

Ratatosk the Squirrel would run up and down a root of the Yggdrasil carrying insults between Nidhogg, the Corpse tearer, and the eagle pearched in the top of the Yggdrasil.

Niflheim, the world of the dead, is nine days ride northwards and downwards from Midgard. The world of the dead is bitterly cold and has unending night.
8. What god is known as the Allfather?

Answer: Odin

Odin was the father of Thor and first and most prominent god of the Aesir. He was the god of death, battle, and poetry. He is called by many names; Allfather, the Terrible one, Father of Battle, and One-eyed. Loki was the mischief-making god and the son of two giants.

He is often called the Trickster, Sly One, Shape Changer, and the Sky Traveller. Frigg was the Allfather's wife and first among the goddesses. Heimdall is the God who created the three races of men. He is also guardian of the Bifrost.

A Norn is a goddess of destiny. The Norns are responsible for continually caring for the Yggdrasil to ensure that it sustains life.
10. Who are the three Norns that care for the Yggdrasil?

Answer: Urd, Skuld, Verdandi

The three Norns that care for the Yggdrasil are Urd (Fate), Skuld (Being), and Verdandi (Necessity). It is said that everyday the Norns draw water from the spring of Urd and sprinkle the water on the roots of the Yggdrasil so that it will not wither and decay. Ve and Vili are the brothers of Odin. Var is the goddess who hears marriage oaths and punishes those who break them. Von is a river that consists of Fenrir's slaver. Vor was a goddess from which nothing could be hidden. Vidar was the son of the Allfather and giantess Grid. Vidar will survive Ragnarok and avenge his father's death. Surt was a giant who guarded the realm of fire (Muspell) before the creation. Surt will set fire to the world at Ragnarok. Sif was the god Thor's wife. Rind was the mistress of Odin and their son was Vali.
