Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. At the end of act one, what is the last word Cinderella SINGS alone? (on the recording)

Answer: palace

The song is titled "On the Steps of the Palace." The last full line is the same. Kim Crosby played the original Cinderella.
2. What is the last line of the Act One prolouge?

Answer: and home before dark

All characters sing this line in the prolouge except for the narrator. "Into the woods, Then out of the woods, and home before dark!"
3. In "I Guess This is Goodbye", what is the last word?

Answer: plate

This is a very short song! "I guess this is goodbye, old pal, You've been a perfect friend. I hate to see us part, old pal, Some day I'll buy you back. I'll see you soon again. I hope that when I do, It won't be on a plate."
4. What is the last word the Wolf sings?

Answer: hello

The Wolf was played by the same actor who played Cinderella's Prince. How about that? The last song the Wolf sings is "Hello, Little Girl". After that, the Baker kills him. Poor Wolf, he only got to sing one song.
5. What is the last line Florinda sings BY HERSELF in Act One?

Answer: but we were blind

This line is said in "Ever After." The last line she sings at all in the first act is "We'd be happy." She sings this with Lucinda and the Witch.
6. In the first "Agony", what is the last line Rapunzel's Prince sings by himself?

Answer: always ten feet below

This is the greatest song, I crack up every time I hear it! "Always ten feet behind, Always ten feet below, and she's just out of reach. Agony that can cut like a knife! I must have her to wife."
7. Let's move on to Act Two. What is the last thing heard in "So Happy"? (It's the prologue to Act Two.)

Answer: Rapunzel screams

She is screaming because she is going insane. What a nice ending to "So Happy".
8. What is the last word the witch sings in "Lament"?

Answer: lose

This, to me, is one of the most moving songs in the musical. It really gives the characters a depth that the fairy tales never give. Bernadette Peters was an incredible witch.
9. What is the last line in "Moments in the Woods"?

Answer: and it's time to leave the woods

The Baker's Wife sings this song after her "moment" with Cinderella's Prince. Man, those princes are players!
10. What is the last line of the play and who sings it?

Answer: "I wish", Cinderella

James Lapine wrote and directed "Into the Woods", and Stephen Sondheim wrote the music and the lyrics to this wonderful musical masterpiece! I love every part of this show!
