The explosion would cause a tsunami, destroying Reef Island (where the conference is taking place), then hit western Australia. This will cause the celebrities' deaths to appear natural.

Major Yu sends Alex to the hospital in order to be used for organ transplants. The night before his operation, Alex escapes by knocking out a guard with a filing cabinet and a dog with meat stuffed with sleeping pills, then stealing a float and a paddle from a plane.

As a distraction, he causes a fire by siphoning the airplane's fuel, pouring it over the hospital, and lighting it with the stolen lighter. The fire occupies the doctors long enough for Alex to escape via the river.
