Linnet Ridgeway told Poirot that Simon had wanted to pay for their honeymoon with his own money and had suggested they go to Spain. She had insisted on their coming to Egypt.

Answer: False

He actually came over on the Normandie. He lied about having traveled by the Carmanic to make it seem that he had left America before receiving Linnet's letter and hence, didn't know that she was married.

In the end, Jackie shoots Simon before shooting herself to save them from being brought to trial.

While searching for the pearl necklace, Poirot tells Colonel Race how a missing scarlet kimono had once ended up in his locked suitcase. This incident occurred during 'The Mystery of the Orient Express'. He also refers to 'Cards on the Table' as that was the book where he first met Colonel Race. Miss Van Schuyler mentions Mr. Rufus Van Aldin as someone who spoke highly about Poirot. Poirot had helped find his daughter's murderer in 'The Mystery of the Blue Train'.
