It does not say which way in the book, but on Lisi Harrison's website she has posted links to her interviews about the books, where she consistently pronounces it Mah-see. Also, Massie's screen name on Instant Messenger is MASSIEKUR, which makes more sense if her name is pronounced Mah-see.
