After she travelled around the world and learnt a lot she found out about the fruit. Her ability to produce a lotus from her palm gave her the name Lotus.

Ever was the only that could find the tree and bring back its fruit. The tree was evergiving; the reason why it could produce more than one fruit. It gives the soul the true immortality to those who wished to seek it and gets rid of the false immortality - physical immortality.

Rafe was the first person that Ever had met. He lied to her as he told her that he fell into a hole. Rafe was sent by Lotus as well to find the fruit and he knows that Ever is the only one that can find the tree. Misa and Marco had followed Ever to find the tree.

When they did see it, Rafe threw Ever down a cliff. Rafe was the one who got the fruit first but he did share the fruit with Misa and Marco.

However Damen had then said yes to settle down, start a family and see his previous family. So at the end of the book Damen and Ever were on a plane which took them to Italy.
