Gaia is the main character. She has been fearless since birth and it has caused many problems in her life. Her uncle Loki caused most of these problems. Her entire life and every choice that her family made were dictated by his existence, and she didn't even know it.

It didn't really help their friendship (or lack thereof) when Gaia neglected to tell Heather that there was a slasher in the park and she was nearly killed. Or when Heather's boyfriend Sam was in love with Gaia.

She didn't know that Sam was going out with Heather when they first met, but she still disliked him. She thought he was too pretty to be hanging around with the chess players in the park. The main reason she didn't like him, however, was because she was attracted to him and she couldn't stop thinking about him.

Gaia stopped Mary from being killed and they ended up becoming good friends. It turned out that the man trying to kill her was her drug dealer Skizz. Mary was addicted to coke. Gaia convinced her to give it up when she found out about it. Mary was killed in Book 8.

Gaia thought it was Skizz that killed her because she owed him money, when it was in fact Loki that killed her. She knew too much about Gaia's mother and her death so he took her out of the equation. Thinking it was Skizz, Gaia hunted him down to avenge her friend's death. Tom killed Skizz before Gaia could so she wouldn't regret it later.

She lost her virginity to her best friend Ed in Book 20. Afterwards Ed was nearly killed by Loki, so she emotionally pushed him away to protect him and told him it was a mistake. She eventually admitted the truth in Book 24. She loves Ed.

Gaia didn't know if Tom or Oliver (Loki) was her father. We later find out that Oliver is sterile, so he couldn't have fathered Gaia.
