When Patrick heard his mother reporting a plane crash, he rushed to the scene of the accident. First he thought it had been a prank call, because he could not see the plane. Then when he saw it, he was awestruck at how big it was. It was probably a 747.

Tuck was unhurt by the plane crash. He went with Ty on the school bus to carry more people to the hospital, because the ambulances could only carry two people at a time. Daniel, on the other hand, was wrapped up in the airplane. He spent his time talking to a woman who was trying to console him. He was one of the last people rescued, even though he was in critical condition.

Darienne is a good-looking young woman, but she is a snob. She is very critical towards other people, even little children like Teddie. She even told the flight attendant that she didn't like children and wanted to be moved to a different seat! She was unhurt in the crash, but Teddie had a broken leg. Teddie had been sitting in the Dove Mansion, but she had a blanket over her and so it was a while before she was noticed and treated for her injuries.

Triage is a method used in real life by medical personnel to distinguish between people that need attention the quickest, to people that can wait, to people that are already dead.
In this story, the red sticker meant the patient needed help fast, so they put a bunny on it to symbolize quickness.

Darienne was trying to get a taxi so she could get home. Heidi, fed up with Darienne's attitude, wondered why she was being so polite (after all, it was her house) and disconnected the call Darienne was making to let the firefighter use the phone.

He was also annoyed by the fact that he did not get credit for clearing the way for the ambulances and other emergency vehicles.
