Several times throughout "EotW", Rand unconsciously channels without realizing what he is doing. One of the many potential side effects of uncontrolled channeling is a sudden severe sickness which passes in several hours. In this particular case, Rand's sickness at The Queen's Man is caused because he unconsciously channelled lightning at The Dancing Cartman inn several days earlier.

This had blown the steel bars off the window and killed the darkfriend Gode and his men, allowing Rand and Mat to escape, although Mat was temporarily blinded.

Answer: Nynaeve

While Moiraine states several times that she is among the most powerful of the existing Aes Sedai, she says that Egwene has the potential to be the most powerful Aes Sedai seen in hundreds of years. Moiraine also says that Egwene is at least as strong as Elayne, so the two are around equal in strength.

However, she says that Nynaeve's channeling potential is like a fire next to Egwene's and Elayne's candles.

Answer: To enable her to find them no matter where they were, as long as they posessed the coin, and to make them more amenable to her suggestions.

The coins she gave the boys created a weak bond between her and them. As long as they possessed the coins, she would be able to find them, and to know if they were dead or alive. The bond also enabled her to sense their presence if they were nearby, or to know if they had been in a particular area.

In addition, the bond was intended to make the boys more likely to follow her suggestions. One of the reasons Moiraine initially suspects that Rand can channel is that he was constantly questioning her orders and her intentions.

She couldn't confirm that he was a channeler by that alone, though, because all of the Two Rivers people were quite stubborn.

The vast majority of the book is from Rand's point of view, but we do get to peek into Perrin's and Nynaeve's heads when the gang separates after Shadar Logoth. The only other female point of view in "EotW" is a single paragraph at the end, from Moiraine's point of view.

Perrin is automatically sentenced to death without questioning, whether he confesses or not. This is because he killed two Children of the Light in order to get revenge for the wolf Hopper's death. Egwene, who is captured with him, will supposedly be allowed to go free if she confesses to her crimes and repents.

However, we will never know whether or not they really would've let her go. Considering their methods, it's unlikely.

Answer: A way of life that the Tuatha'an follow, which is no violence or resistance, even in self defense.

The Tuatha'an, or the Tinkers, follow a lifestyle called the Way of the Leaf. They are as unresisting as a leaf, going passively wherever life takes them. They will never raise a hand against anyone, not even if a person attempts to kill them or their loved ones.

Answer: She had a Foretelling that he would stand at the heart of all the pain and division the land would face.

Mostly, after her Foretelling, Elaida wants to keep close tabs on Rand, and would rather have him safely locked up than out free. At this point in the story, she does not know he is with Moiraine, nor is she aware that he can channel.

Answer: Yes. Treesinging.

Loial mentions a few times that while the ability to see ta'veren is a Talent among the ogier, he does not have it. However, he is able to Treesing, as we saw when he sang to the tree the Green Man left after dying.

Answer: He tries to choose a human word that is as close as possible to the wolf's actual name, which is more like a series of images and emotions than a single word.

The wolf Elyas calls "Dapple" does not actually have a single word as her name. Instead, as he describes it, "It's something that means the way shadows play on a forest pool at a midwinter dawn, with the breeze rippling the surface, and the tang of ice when the water touches the tongue, and a hint of snow before nightfall in the air".

Answer: He was sworn at birth to continue to fight a battle that can never be won, and intends to die fighting the Dark One.

Lan was sworn at birth to avenge what could not be defended, to fight against the Blight as long as one drop of blood remained. He loves Nynaeve, so he could not marry her, knowing he was courting death every day.
