The 1020 edition is used in the Foundation books by Bear, Brin, and Benford. The other numbers are made up.

Answer: 51

There were 98,572 total people in the project. Prior to Dornick's joining, there were 50 mathematicians. The other number is made up.

He knows that the first two places atomic power would show up are the shipbuilding and steel facilities. Since he knows he won't be allowed to see the shipyards, he asked to be taken to a steel factory.
