Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was Prosper and Bo's aunt and uncle's surname?

Answer: Hartlieb

The Hartliebs wanted to adopt Prosper and Bo after their mother had died because they had no children of their own. But they actually only wanted Bo and tried to separate them. Prosper got upset and ran away to Venice with Bo.
2. The children under the Thief Lord's care were Prosper, Bo, Hornet, and which of these children?

Answer: Both of them

Prosper is twelve years old boy and his brother Bo is five. Hornet is a girl whose real name is Caterina. She had a lot of books; she bought some of them, but she found most of them. Mosca is the strongest them of all, and he had a boat. He felt at home on the water. Riccio is a scrawny boy, and most of his friends call him "Hedgehog".

He was just the opposite of Mosca, feeling sick by just looking at the water.
3. What was the name of the old movie theatre Prosper, Bo and his friends were hiding in?

Answer: The Stella

The Stella, which Scipio calls Star-Palace, belonged to a rich man called Dottor Massimo. "Dottor" in Italian means doctor by the way. Anyway, he owned another theatre called the Stella too. He built them for sheer enjoyment, but he closed down the Star-Palace later on.
4. What was the name of the detective Prosper and Bo's aunt and uncle hired to look for them?

Answer: Victor Getz

He had two tortoises for his pets. He found the duty of a detective tiresome. The other three people don't exist in the story. I just mixed some names and surnames of the characters in the story.
5. What is the price Barbarossa offered Prosper and Riccio for the loot with the sugar tongs?

Answer: 100 thousand lire

Barbarossa was a sly man. He never gave up his money without a fight. He offered 100 thousand lire for the loot, but Prosper refused, but Barbarossa really liked the sugar tongs, so the deal at last was 400 thousand lire.
6. What was the true identity of Scipio, the Thief Lord?

Answer: The son of Dottor Massimo

The first one to find out the true identity of Scipio was Victor Getz. Victor was investigating on the case of Prosper and Bo, and he thought they were hiding in an old theatre, so he pretended to be a reporter to ask Dottor Massimo about it. It was then he saw Scipio in his true identity.
7. Prosper, Bo and his friends took on a job from the Conte to steal a wooden wing from somebody's house. Who was this somebody?

Answer: Ida Spavento

They were caught in Ida's house, but she was kind and told them the story of the wing which belonged to a magical merry-go-round, but on one condition. That condition was to let Ida go with the children to give the wing to the Conte next night.
8. To which island did the children follow the Conte's sailing boat?

Answer: Isola Segreta

Isola Segreta was called 'The Secret Isle". There were some spooky stories about it, and nobody ever dared to go there.
9. What were the Conte and his sister's true names?

Answer: Renzo and Morosina

They were looking for the wing because it was needed to make the magical merry-go-round to work.
10. What did the magical merry-go-round do?

Answer: It changes your age

According to Renzo, each animal worked differently. The lion made you younger, and the water creatures made you older.
