Answer: A Planet Called Treason

"A Planet Called Treason" was published in 1979 and tells the story of Lanik Mueller a "radical regenerative" who travels across his home planet Treason where generations ago a group of scientists were stranded for the crime they named their planet after. Each scientist formed his own nation and they each used their scientific skills to change the people living there.

In 1988, Card revised "A Planet Called Treason" and renamed it "Treason". The opening line of "Treason" is : "I was the last to know what was happening to me."

Orson Scott Card was the first author to win the Hugo and Nebula awards in two consecutive years with "Ender's Game" and it's sequel "Speaker for the Dead". In "Speaker for the Dead" the reader is introduced to the Piggies, the second sentient species that Humanity has encountered. We also learn that though it has been 3000 years since Ender destroyed the Buggers, Ender is still alive and a young man.
