This was my first Preston/Child novel. Although a bit long, this was a great introduction to the duo.

Answer: Riptide

A fun read full of death, high-tech operations and immense treasure.
7. An old tunnel under a New York City mansion is found, and thirty-six bodies are uncovered within. Pendergast must figure it all out as identical murders begin happening all over again.

Answer: The Cabinet of Curiosities

Yet another great book with my favorite FBI agent Pendergast. This novel takes him back not only to 160 years ago, but also to his dark past.
8. Nora Kelly leads a team into a secluded part of Utah's canyons on a search for her father and a lost city of gold.

Answer: Thunderhead

An interesting novel, especially if you have any knowledge of archaeology or of desert canyons.
9. A small town in the center of America is the site of some gruesome killings. Pendergast must get to the heart of the situation. Is it a serial killer or some mysterious curse?

Answer: Still Life with Crows

This novel not only takes you into the spooky cornfields, but also into some very amazing caverns. You can also learn a bit more about Pendergast in this one.
10. The diabolical brother of Pendergast, Diogenes, has had twenty years to plan an awful crime. Diogenes murders several people close to his brother in an attempt to frame Pendergast for the crime.

Answer: Dance of Death

The prequel to "The Book of the Dead", this is a wonderfully fun novel that has tons of twists and turns.
