Answer: Find the right path

Before sending Ronia out into the forest for the first time, Matt gives his daughter several pieces of advice: Watch out for Wild Harpies, Gray Dwarves and Borka Robbers. When she asks how she will know which is which, she is told she'll find out.. .Then he tells her to watch out not to get lost in the forest.

When she asks what she should do if she does, he replies, "Find the right path." Next, he tells her to watch out she doesn't fall into the river - if she does, she should swim. Lastly, he warns her to watch out she doesn't fall into Hell's Gap - if she does, she won't be doing anything else.

Answer: Villain and Savage

One horse tries to bite Ronia's fingers when she first approaches. Birk asks, "Do you mean that villain snapped at you when you were giving him bread?" Ronia decides Villain is a good name for her horse and Birks asks her to name his horse for him in exchange. She says, "He's just as crazy - you can call him Savage."
6. Which of the forest-dwellers can fly?

Answer: Harpies

Gray Dwarves are small and grey (naturally) and are known for biting and scratching small humans - they are easily frightened off by shouting and firmly standing your ground. The Unearthly ones sing strange, unearthly songs to tempt people away in the mist, only for them never to be seen again. Rumphobs are small beings, mostly harmless, and known for their odd speech patterns, ("Woffor did 'un do that?").

The wild and beautiful Harpies fly shrieking around the forest, hoping to find small children to torment and take back with them to their mountain lair.

They love to scratch and "make the blood run" - their cruel laughter rings throughout the forest!
7. Which song does Lovis sing every night?

9. What secret does Noddle-Pete impart to Ronia?

Answer: The location of a silver mine

Noddle-Pete once saved the life of a young Gray Dwarf who was so grateful that he showed Noddle-Pete a hidden silver mine. Noddle-Pete never divulged the information to anyone but Ronia, and she, in turn, told only Birk, so that they could make their fortune when they became adults and not become robbers like their fathers.
10. A certain season has a peculiar effect on Ronia. What is it?

Answer: Spring Yell

When Spring arrives, Ronia feels it building up inside her so that she has to scream aloud. She warns Birk not to be afraid - it's just her Spring Yell!
