1. In the days before the reformation, how many prayers are compulsory daily?

Answer: 8

Eight is of course the magic number on the Discworld. We learn the number of prayers when Fri'it suddenly realizes them for what they are - habit, and a method of measuring time.

2. When Didactylos comments on Brutha's lack of calluses when he says he's a scribe, what does he call Brutha?

Answer: Ambi-sinister

It means "incompetent with both hands", according to Om.

3. What is the name of the ship which takes Brutha and Vorbis to and from Ephebe?

Answer: The Unnamed Boat

The Sea Queen accedes to Om's request to spare the boat on the outward journey, but claims it on the return. "Unnamed" is also the name of Chidder's boat in 'Pyramids' but this is certainly not the same boat. "The Prid of Ankh-Morpork" is from 'Jingo'.

4. Who is the Goddess of Negotiable Affection?

Answer: Petulia

She is worshipped by ladies of the night (and every other time). Brutha notices her statue in Ephebe because she seemed to be having some serious trouble with her dress.

5. What form did Om take when he appeared to Ossory?

Answer: Pillar of flame

Om was only able to manifest himself as a tortoise (and half-blind at that) at first because he only had one believer left. In his early days, when he had lots of believers he was able to manifest as a bull. Of course, we only have the Church's word that Om appeared to Ossory as a pillar of flame.

6. Who are the two people Death watches walking away at the end of the book?

Answer: Brutha and Vorbis

Brutha was about 117 when he died on the 100th anniversary of his return from the desert. When he died, he found Vorbis still sitting in the sand where he had found himself after his death 100 years earlier. When Brutha walked on, Vorbis finally stood up and followed him.

7. What was the name of Simony's home country which Omnia conquered fifteen years earlier?

Answer: Istanzia

Simony was guarding Vorbis very closely - he didn't want anyone to kill him before he did. Betrek and Ushistan were also conquered by Omnia as we learn from the Ephebians.

8. When Brutha's talent for memory is displayed by Vorbis to the other priests, what does Brutha remember having seen before on Grune 3rd in the Year of the Astounded Beetle?

Answer: Derechmi coins from Ephebe

All the items were on the tray in Vorbis' room, but the priests wonder how Brutha, who has never left Omni, would recognize Ephebian coins. Brutha remembers them from a time when merchants visited his village - he was within a month of being three years old at the time.

9. Which of the following items is NOT sold by Cut-Me-Own-Hand-Off Dhblah?

Answer: Sausages

Dhblah is, of course, Omnia's version of Ankh-Morpork's own Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler, infamous for his sausages ("Once tasted, never forgotten," according to 71-Hour Ahmed in 'Jingo'.)

10. Who do Brutha and Om encounter on their way through the desert?

Answer: St. Ungulant
