Answer: A sled

There was a sled, much like the one from Jonas' memory waiting at the top of the hill. They got on and rode it to the bottom of the hill.
9. What holiday was Jonas witnessing as he tried to focus on the lights through the windows?

Answer: Christmas

He was recognizing the Christmas lights that The Giver had shown him through memories.
10. The book tells us that Jonas and Gabe are saved by the community at the bottom of the hill.

Answer: False

This book has a very ambiguous ending. No one knows for sure what happens to Jonas and Gabe at the end. And that is exactly what Lowry wanted.
