There is an Old Curiosity Shop in London, in a building constructed in the 16th century, and as Dickens lived in the area, it is thought to be the architectural inspiration for the shop in his novel. The shop was renamed and changed use from a dairy to an antiques shop to capitalise on the Dickens association.
