Are you a "Fugitive" Fanatic? Trivia Quiz

One of my all-time favorite films is 1993's "The Fugitive," a new adaptation of the television series that debuted in 1963 about an wrongfully convicted man running from the law while trying to solve his wife's murder.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is Dr. Kimble's medical specialty?

Answer: vascular surgeon

While going over Kimble's file, Cosmo says "Dr. Richard David Kimble, vascular surgeon. What is that?" to which Poole replies "Somebody that makes more money than you." For the record, a vascular surgeon is someone who specializes in surgical procedures involving veins and arteries. That's definitely someone who makes more money than me.
2. At the beginning of the film what is the name of the sheriff who initially takes charge of the train wreck?

Answer: Rawlins

Sam initially forgets the sheriff's name and gives it as "Rogers." Sheriff Rogers - er, Rawlins, is played by Nick Searcy, who also appeared in "C.S.I: Crime Scene Investigation", also as a sheriff, and in "Line of Fire" as a U.S. Marshal.
3. What is U.S. Marshal Cosmo's last name?

Answer: Renfro

Sometimes, although not often, Sam refers to Cosmo as "Renfro". Renfro, who is played by Joe Pantoliano, adds a bit of comic relief to the film by griping here and there about his job. In the scene where the marshals follow Kimble into the sewer. Renfro laments "I just bought these shoes!" Biggs, Newman, and Henry are the names of some of the other marshals on Sam's team.
4. In which metropolitan area do the events of "The Fugitive" take place?

Answer: Chicago, IL

Most of the film is shot on location in Chicago, although a few of the scenes are shot in various parts of North Carolina. The "Chicago Memorial Hospital" that Kimble works at is fictional, although there are a few hospitals in Chicago that include "Memorial" in their name.
5. Julianne Moore has a cameo in this film. Whom does she play?

Answer: A doctor at Cook County Hospital.

Although her name is never mentioned in the film, Moore's character is listed in the closing credits as "Dr. Anne Eastman". Moore received top billing, despite the fact that she is only in the film for a total of about five minutes.
6. A cameo in this film is made by an actor who also has a role as a doctor's biggest nemesis in a long-running hospital sitcom. In "The Fugitive," he plays a transit cop. What is his name?

Answer: Neil Flynn

Neil Flynn plays a transit cop who calls in a sighting of Kimble on a train, and is shot by Frederick Sykes. Flynn also appears as "the Janitor" on the popular sitcom "Scrubs." In one particularly amusing episode, Dr. Dorian is convinced he's seen the janitor somewhere before. Then he watches "The Fugitive" on TV and makes the connection.
7. Who plays Dr. Kimble's wife?

Answer: Sela Ward

Sela Ward appears in a few flashbacks and dream sequences. Her dying words to a 911 dispatcher are "Richard... he's trying to kill me." The court misinterprets this as Helen naming her killer as her husband, when in fact she is calling for his help. She takes another role as a doctor's love interest in "House, M.D." She appears in several episodes during the 2005-2006 season as House's former longtime girlfriend, Stacy Warner.
8. During their first face-to-face confrontation, Kimble shouts to Gerard "I didn't kill my wife!" What is Gerard's response?

Answer: I don't care!

Gerard does say "Richard, do you want to get shot?" to Kimble, but this is a few minutes later, just before Kimble jumps off the dam. The line was originally scripted as "That's not my problem," but at the request of Tommy Lee Jones, it was changed to "I don't care!"
9. Which of the following does Richard NOT do to conceal his identity after he escapes?

Answer: He loses thirty pounds.

Just after Richard escapes the train wreck, he sneaks into a local hospital and shaves off his moustache and beard. Shortly thereafter, he dyes his hair black and creates a fake ID for the hospital, and also presumably another for when he visits an inmate at the local jail.
10. Why does Dr. Kimble visit Cook County Hospital?

Answer: To obtain information from the prosthetics lab.

Richard creates a fake ID and goes to Cook County Hospital. He is disguised as a janitor in order to obtain a list of prosthesis patients in an attempt to find the one-armed man. While there, he changes the orders in the chart of a young boy who is misdiagnosed with a fractured sternum, which results in the boy receiving life-saving surgery. Richard does do a drug study on Provasic, but he enlists the help of his colleagues at Chicago Memorial for this.
