But you two monkeys are not going to do it on my race track." Now that he had Cole and Rowdy's attention, he talked about how a Japanese inspection worked. He told the guys "You trade paint one more time or you do so much as touch, I'm going to tear apart your race car for 300 laps.

Then, if you pass inspection and you get your car back together, I might let you get back in the race." The guys were quiet and submissive like a couple of kids getting a scolding. Big John then said that they would be going out to dinner and that Cole and Rowdy would be driving together.

He tossed them the keys to a rental car.

At North Wilkesboro Speedway, Russ kept picking on Cole and spun him out at the very end of the race, blowing both of Cole's right side tires out. Cole pulled into the pits and asked Harry to change his tires. Harry did so, but said that the race was over.

After the tires were changed, Cole sped out of the pits to catch up with Russ taking his victory lap. Cole slammed into Russ's car - destroying both cars. Tim was angry and shocked and said "He's destroyed both my cars! He's destroyed both my cars! You're fired! Is anyone listening to me? You're all fired!"

After having an argument with his now girlfriend, Dr. Lewicki, Cole went and visited Rowdy. Rowdy was playing a game of pool and had a bottle of pain pills sitting on the table. After some discussion about Rowdy's health, Cole reached up and grabbed a trophy and asked "What did you win this for?" Rowdy didn't remember, but said "Doesn't it say?" Cole stated it was a Winston Cup championship trophy and sarcastically asked what Rowdy's name was or did he forget that too? Cole grabbed a baseball bat and said "Ok, we can go down there and fix your head..." and then screamed "...or we can fix it right here! Now, what's it going to be?" The next scene showed Rowdy in the hospital with Dr. Wilhare going over Rowdy's brain scan.

It showed a broken blood vessel in his brain.

Rowdy asked Dr. Lewicki and Dr. Wilhare to leave the room. Rowdy asked Cole to drive his car for him at Daytona. Cole was hesitant but Rowdy explained that he had no sponsor and that the sponsors needed a car to finish in the top 5 before they'd pick up the remainder of the season. Rowdy said he hoped to be back by then, but grimly stated "I'm not so sure I'll make it out of this deal. Are you?" Cole was quiet because he knew the same thing could happen to him. Cole agreed to take the offer, but he needed Harry's help.

Harry was talking to Rowdy's car as he did with all his cars. He told the car that Cole had changed and he was not ready if the car went out of control. After he was done with his speech, he happened to hear a dripping noise under the car. He looked down and saw oil dripping on the floor.

He said "This is not the answer I'm looking for from you." They ended up having to change engines because someone had forgotten to tighten the oil lines. There was also metal found in the oil filter which was not good.

As Cole was lacing up his shoes for the Daytona 500, Dr. Lewicki visited him. She had a concerned expression on her face and was very quietly spoken. Cole asked "What are you thinking?" She answered "I'd like just as much to know what you're thinking." Cole replied "I'm more scared of being nobody than I am of being hurt." They walked to the car together where Dr. Lewicki fastened up Cole's window net.

After making it through a major wreck, Cole got the confidence back and charged through the field to catch up and pass Russ for the lead. Russ slammed into Cole's car and caused the accelerator to stick to the floorboard. Cole's car was now out of control and couldn't slow down. Russ tapped him and spun him out. Harry asked Cole if he was alright. Cole responded "The good news is the accelerator's fixed.

The bad news is the transmission's screwed. I'm coming in." Cole came into the pits backwards and spun it back around in his pit box. Tim knew and witnessed how crooked a driver Russ turned out to be, and asked an official if Cole's team was out of the race yet.

The official said that in about 45 seconds, the pace car would pass him on the track and they would be out.

As work was being done to repair Cole's car, one of his pit guys said the pace car was on the front stretch. They jammed the transmission in high gear and then did the tedious task of pushing the car down pit lane. Tim ordered his crew to get out there and help them so they could get out in time.

They barely beat the pace car. As Tim was coming back, the official said "Hey, you can't do that! That's not your car!" Tim replied "That's my engine in that car and I gave him that engine and that's what my boys are pushin'!"

As Cole caught back up, Russ's crew chief said that Cole was going to try and slingshot past him. Russ, overconfident of his driving, said "I know Cole. He always goes to the outside." Cole went high a couple of times to pass him, but Russ put him in the wall each time. Cole acted as though he would do it again, but as soon as Russ went high to block him, Cole shot down to the bottom and pinned Russ into the wall all of the way to the finish line with Cole winning the race.

After celebrating in victory lane, Cole saw Harry sitting on the pit wall. Cole asked him if he was alright. Harry, in shock, said "It's like you said. There's nothing you can't do in a race car." Neither man knew how the race would turn out. Cole laughed and asked if he should carry Harry to victory lane. Harry said, "Walk? Heck, I'll race ya!" The two of them sprint down the pit lane to victory lane.
