Disney's "Tron" Trivia Quiz

"Tron" is a great movie, which I like personally because it is a movie about being inside a video game (one of my fantasies). I had to make a quiz on this. Enjoy!

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the programmer whose games are stolen?

Answer: Flynn

Flynn is what programs call a user. Users and programmers are the same thing; programs simply use the term user instead programmer. Dillinger is the Senior Executive Vice President of Encom and he got there by annexing Flynn's games. Dillinger then fired Flynn and Flynn has been trying to get his games back ever since.
2. What job did the M.C.P. originally do, when it was still an early program?

Answer: Chess Program

M.C.P. stands for Master Control Program and it runs everything in the company Encom, where the story takes place in the real world. Both Flynn and the M.C.P. mention playing chess with each other at different points in the movie.
3. What item does Lora send to the digital world, at the beginning of the movie?

Answer: Orange

Lora created the virtualizing program. The first test run turns an orange into nothing, and then back again and it works! Unfortunately, the M.C.P. later uses it to send Flynn to the virtual world, in hopes of killing him, when Flynn is trying to hack into the MCP from a terminal in front of the virtualizer.
4. What is NOT the name of one of the characters who helps our hero destroy the M.C.P?

Answer: Sark

Tron is the real hero of the movie as he is the only one who can detroy the M.C.P. Flynn knows the most about the system, seeing how he even programmed some of it. Yori helps Tron reach the M.C.P. in order to destroy it. Ram helps out early in the movie, but dies in the middle of it. Sark is the name of the evil program that was controlled my the M.C.P. until Tron stops them both.
5. What are most old programs being forced to do?

Answer: Play Video Games

During the movie, the M.C.P. is killing programs by putting them on the game-grid. He also tries to kill Flynn this way, but Flynn is good at video games and escapes death. The game-grid is where the story takes place in the virtual world.
6. What do programs call programmers?

Answer: Users

Users, like Flynn, apparently have special powers in the digital universe. Programs that believe in users, like Ram and Tron, are forced to play in the game-grid. Ram mentions to Flynn, once Flynn arrives at jail, that all the believers (programs who believe in users) are being forced to play games that will kill them, as they oppose the M.C.P.
7. Did our main programmer write the tank program seen in the game-grid?

Answer: Yes

While being chased by the tanks during the light cycle, Flynn mentions that he regrets writing the tank program. Flynn's program, Clu, is in a tank at the beginning of the movie. Clu's mission is to recover the file that states the Dillinger stole Flynn's video game programs, but Clu is caught and killed.
8. What is the name of the little dot-like thing that can say either yes or no?

Answer: Bit

When saying yes, bit turns into a yellow 3D diamond and when saying no, into a red spikey shape. Bit knows useful information about the system and assists Clu early in the movie, and Flynn somewhat later in the movie.
9. Who helps Tron speak to his user?

Answer: Dumont

Dumont helps Tron speak to Alan, his user. Alan tells him that his disc needs to be inserted into the center of the M.C.P., which Flynn and Yori help Tron accomplish. Dumont most closely resembles Dr. Gibbs in the movie and shares similar thoughts with him about how the M.C.P. has taken over. Yori looks like Lora in real life and Flynn at first calls her Lora.
10. Who defeats the M.C.P.?

Answer: Tron

Flynn helps Tron reach the M.C.P., but it is Tron who throws the disc and stops the M.C.P. for good. After the M.C.P. is defeated, Flynn is returned to the real world and gets what he wants, proof that his video games were stolen by Dillinger. From there, Flynn gets into the higher position that Dillinger was previously in.
