Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who says this? "The point is you get to capatalize on another human being's misfortune."

Answer: Jack

When Walter and Anna need a home, Jack, Walter's real estate agent tells him about a million dollar house going for only $200,000. Walter questions the motive behind this low price. Then Jack tells him it doesn't matter why it's so cheap and that he should take advantage of the situation.
2. Who says this? "Well let me see. If I sell everything I own, maybe I can buy you lunch."

Answer: Walter

Jack asks Walter if he can get $200,000 by Friday to buy the house. Walter makes it very clear that he is broke.
3. Who says this? "I got on the short line once. It was for farm vehicles."

Answer: Anna

After Walter and Anna tour the house, they talk about whether or not they should buy it. Trying to convince Anna the house will be great, he tells her about the short line at Motor Vehicles. He says that you get on the long line that "reaches to Spain". Then he says you see a small line, "but you don't get on that line 'cause you think something must be wrong with it."
4. What is happening to Anna when Walter shocks himself on the doorbell?

Answer: She gets stuck in the mattress

Anna and Walter get Carlos and Estelle's bed when they buy the house. Anna sits on the edge of it and the mattress slowly collapses towards the floor with her in it.
5. What is Walter doing while parts of the ceiling are falling on Anna?

Answer: Fixing the stairs

The first day Walter and Anna move in, Walter falls through a "tricky step". He attempts to fix it with a hammer and nails. The pounding causes parts of the ceiling to fall on Anna's head.
6. Why doesn't Walter pick up Anna from the train station after her rehearsal?

Answer: He's stuck in the floor

After Walter gets off the phone with Montgomery Shrapp (the permit guy), he steps into a hole in the floor. He doesn't know the hole is there because it is covered by an area rug. Anna gets a ride home and finds Walter in the floor. Trying to help him, she pulls on the rug, but it doesn't work. It just causes him to fall through to the first floor.
7. Who says this? "I'd help you with that, but somebody stepped on all my fingers."

Answer: Walter

When Anna is attacked by the raccoon, he races up the stairs, causing them to collapse. Not knowing the stairs are out and that Walter is hanging from the edge, Anna steps on Walter's fingers. Later that night when Anna is making up the bed, Walter doesn't help because his fingers are bandaged.
8. Walter and Anna agree to split the cost of the house. Where does Walter get his half?

Answer: Benny

Anna asks Walter where he is going to get his half of the money for the house. Walter tells Anna that he is "going to the top" - to the one who "sold 22 million records last year".
9. Walter receives a letter and picture from his father telling him the news of his marriage. Where does Walter's father get married?

Answer: Rio de Janeiro

The very first scene of this movie takes place in Rio de Janeiro, where we see Walter's father marry a young woman.
10. Who says this? "I lost her too, but I will get over it because I am shallow and self-centered. But you, you won't, because you are complex. You will feel terrible anguish for the rest of your life. This is turning out to be a pretty good day."

Answer: Max

Walter and Anna break up because of Anna's alleged affair with Max. Later, Max tells Anna that he lied about being intimate with her when she was drunk. Anna is extremely relieved she didn't actually cheat on Walter with Max, but she decides not to tell Walter because she's upset he won't forgive her. Max then tells Walter that Walter has made a mistake for letting her go and he will feel "anguish" for the rest of his life.
