Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Prior to being launched into space, Flash Gordon was a well-known quarterback for what NFL team?

Answer: Jets

This may have been mentioned with the airplane pilot, who asked Flash to sign a magazine for his son. Flash later announced himself as quarterback for the NY Jets to Emporer Ming. Believe it or not, Kurt Russell also auditioned for this role...but Sam Jones was eventually cast, after the director's mother-in-law spotted him on an episode of "The Dating Game".

Incidently, all of Sam Jones' lines in "Flash Gordon" were dubbed!
2. Dr. Hans Zarkov, Dale Arden, and Flash Gordon land on what planet?

Answer: Mongo

Because Zarkov believed the earth was under attack, he built a rocket ship, apparently to confront the invaders. The plane Dale and Flash were traveling in crash-landed into Zarkov's laboratory. When Zarkov attempted to abduct Dale, Flash tried to fight Zarkoff, accidentally launching the ship in the process.

"It has no name", the slavegirl said to Dale. "Many brave men died to bring it here from the Galaxy of Pleasure. It will make your nights with Ming more...agreeable."
10. What director was interested in making the updated version of "Flash Gordon", but then learned that Dino De Laurentiis had bought the rights?
