Finn and Alfonz are diving off the coast of the Florida Keys looking for a treasure called the Queens' Dowry that was lost at sea when the ship carrying it sank. The character, Finn is played by Matthew McConaughey who was voted People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2005.

While Finn and Alfonz are diving for the treasure, the boat, Booty Call catches fire and sinks in the ocean. Finn and Alfonz are unaware that this has happened, because they are too busy treasure hunting.

Finn must meet Tess at the courthouse to finalize their divorce. Due to circumstances beyond his control he winds up being late and loses everything to Tess in the divorce. Although Finn was going to sign the divorce papers, he really doesn't want to be divorced and hopes to change Tess's mind by offering to go into counseling.

Tess works as a stewardess on Nigel's yacht. She is trying to earn enough money to leave Florida and go back and finish school. Nigel is played by actor, Donald Sutherland who is also in the movie "Pride and Prejudice" with Keira Knightley.

Bigg Bunny is a rapper who owns a private island in the Keys. He fronts Finn some money to treasure hunt with, but when Finn's boat sinks, Finn is unable to repay the loan. Because Bigg Bunny wants money from Finn, he decides to look for the treasure himself.

While Finn and Alfonz are diving for treasure and the boat capsizes, the boat causes movement below the sea and a piece of a plate flies right at Finn. He grabs it and brings it to the surface. When he gets to the surface, he shows his finding to Alfonz and then says, "Where's the boat?" He is so diverted by finding a piece of the treasure that he doesn't realize the boat has sunk.

Nigel named his boat after his daughter, Gemma. In the beginning of the movie, Gemma thinks the Nigel doesn't love her because he has ill feelings towards her mother. While going back to the yacht one day, she realizes that he does love her and that he has showed it by naming his boat after her. Gemma isn't so bright so she has never realized this before.

Finn and Tess get back together while looking for clues to the treasure in the church. When they find the clues they need to locate the treasure, they are very excited and happy and kiss. Although Tess has divorced Finn, she still has strong feelings for him but wishes that he were more responsible.

After they find the treasure, I guess she doesn't have to worry about him being responsible!

Finn and Tess find out the location to the treasure from a clue written in a book buried in the church cemetery. They don't get to enjoy the fact that they have found the location of the treasure because Bigg Bunny has been following them and when he realizes they know where the treasure is, he tries to capture them. Finn escapes by pretending he died in a motorbike accident, but Bigg Bunny captures Tess and makes her go to where the treasure is supposed to be to see if it's actually there.

The treasure is in an underwater cave beneath a geyser just like the clue said and after fighting off Bigg Bunny and his goons, Finn and Tess are finally able to enjoy the treasure with the rest of the treasure hunters.

One of the funniest moments in the movie in my opinion is this scene. When Finn replies that he learned how to fly from Playstation, you have to laugh. Of course, Finn didn't learn how land from Playstation so they have to wing it and wind up crash landing.
