Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Bond's immortal words in "Dr. No", "Bond, James Bond", were spoken to who?

Answer: SylviaTrench

The scene with our our first ever look at James Bond - at the roulette table, opening of "Dr. No". Once spoken, never forgotten. (The other girls are from other Bond films).
2. In 'Dr. No', Bond finds a girl waiting in his flat for him (playing golf). What does Bond reply when she asks him to repeat when he said he has to leave?

Answer: "Almost immediately."

Bond returns to his flat en route to Jamaica. He finds Sylvia Trench waiting, and initally says he has to leave "immediately" but when made an offer he can't refuse, decides to change his reply to "almost immediately". Getting to know Bond's priorities...
3. In "Dr. No", when Honey Ryder meets Bond on the beach, she asks him what he is doing there, what does he reply?

Answer: "I'm just looking"

Classic scene in which Bond has difficulty getting close to Honey - she asks him if he is looking for shells & he states the above.
4. In "Thunderball", how does Largo describe his pet sharks?

Answer: "Magnificent creatures"

By the pool, when giving Bond a tour of the estate. Largo is already aware of Bond having chatted to his "fiancée", Domino, and loses no time in warning Bond to keep his distance...
5. "Thunderball" again - on arrival at the hotel in Fiona Volpe's car (she offers him a lift in which she drives extremely fast), how does Bond close their converstaion?

Answer: "No, some men just don't like being taken for a ride."

Vople picks Bond up and he becomes aware that something may be wrong when he sees her ring with the SPECTRE symbol. Volpe says "Some men just don't like being driven", Bond replies with the quote above.
6. "You Only Live Twice" - what is Tanaka's reply when Bond claims to like saké, especially when served at the correct temperature, 98.4 degrees Fahrenheit?

Answer: "For a European, you are exceptionally cultivated."

Bond and Tanaka find themselves on Tanaka's private subway (commenting that he imagines that M has a similar arrangement in London!). Inside, Bond is offered a drink and takes saké...
7. "You Only Live Twice" - Bond says "if you're Tanaka then how do you feel about me". The reply?

Answer: "I love you."

The code word to identify Bond's contact. Bond is "led" to Tanaka finally falling through a trap door and finding himself opposite Tanaka in his office. (Tanaka makes fun of Bond telling him he will get into any car with any girl, but the answer is 'I love you'.)
8. In "Thunderball", on Largo's estate, when Bond spots a gun which he says looks like a women's gun, Largo asks him if he knows much about guns. Bonds replies?

Answer: "No, I know a little about women."

A rather sarcastic Bond remark, while he and Largo are playing around their true intentions! Largo continues to play with Bond, but Bond does not let his guard down.
9. In "Diamonds Are Forever", Bond is buried in an underground tunnel and wakes to find himself next to a rat. He says that one of them smells like a tart's handkerchief and adds?

Answer: "I'm afraid it's me old boy."

Bond recognizes the smell of his adversary's perfume on waking up - (and later in the film clarifies the event above when he says "I've smelt that perfume before - and both times I've smelt a rat").
10. In "Diamonds are Forever", M and 007 are offered a glass of sherry by diamond expert Sir Donald Munger. Bond remarks, "An unusually fine solera. Fifty-one, I believe". M replies?

Answer: "There is no year for sherry 007."

To which Bond replies that he was refering to the original vintage on which it was based, 1851. Munger adds "Precicely". Classic exchange establishing Bond's "intellectual" superiority over M.
