Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Father Brian tells the bartender that "you don't hear people talking about a calling anymore." He adds that his "calling" was in the form of a nickname his mother gave him when he was young. What did she call him?

Answer: Her gift from G-d.

Father Brian says that when he was young, his mother always called him "her gift from G-d," and that he knew that he somehow "was supposed to return the favor."
2. In the film, actress Jenna Elfman plays the character of Anna. What is Anna's last name?

Answer: Reilly

3. Speaking of Anna, what does the sign say that Brian and Jake hold up for her at the airport as a gag when she is getting off of the airplane?

Answer: Anna-Banana

I just think that the sign is so adorably cute and funny!
4. In the quiz intro, I mentioned the Karaoke machine. What song is being "performed" as Jake and Brian enter the store to purchase said machine?

Answer: Jesse's Girl

It's sung by Dung... which rhymes with "flung!"
5. What is strange about the way Kol Nidre services are being conducted at Jake's Temple?

Answer: The prayer "Kol Nidre" is being sung as the congregation enters.

The "Kol Nidre" prayer is the central part of the Erev Yom Kippur (or Kol Nidrei) service. It is, therefore, not recited as the congregation files into the sanctuary, but is rather recited by the congregation during the most important and reflective part of the service.
6. What does Rabbi Jake tell the boy he is tutoring to recite as he plays the bongo drums during his Bar Mitzvah lesson in Jake's office?

Answer: "I love that I suck!"

Anna jokes that she thought that she had called the "Tony Robbins hotline."
7. What is Father Brian's 'Seven Deadly Sins' joke to his congregation?

Answer: That it was a very important movie.

...and it had Brad Pitt in it! Father Brian adds that "you'd have the ultimate 'Cliff's Notes'!"
8. What grade were Brian, Jake, and Anna friends during?

Answer: Eighth

9. In what setting does the movie open?

Answer: A bar.

Father Brian, a priest, is sitting trying to pick up women in a bar... I just find it an amusing image!
10. What's so important about Anna taking classes with Rabbi Louis? Why does this make Jake so happy?

Answer: These are the classes that one takes to convert to Judaism.

I didn't realize the answer to this question until my Rabbi pointed it out to me after seeing this movie. I think that it's so incredible that the movie included this subtlety of Anna and Jake's evolving relationship!
