Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. To start well, simply finish the quotation from the beginning of the movie: "And when I arrive at my destination, I am going to _______."

Answer: kill Bill

This is the way the title for this part is introduced. It is obviously a part of the Bride's monologue at the beginning.
2. Budd is the first of the Squad that the Bride faces in this part. It appears that he is not particularly successful at present, nor was he in the past. He claims that at one point he even sold his Hattori Hanzo sword, which does not appear to be "priceless" in El Paso. So how much did it bring Budd, according to what he says?

Answer: $250

It later turns out that, in fact, Budd did not sell the sword. The Bride finds it in his house.
3. It is pretty hard to forget the scenes where Beatrix is buried alive. I suppose I'm not the only person who was rather chilled by the image. The real drama takes place under the ground - but how about the surface? So the question is, under what name is the Bride buried?

Answer: Paula Schultz

Chapter No. 7 is entitled "The Lonely Grave of Paula Schultz" (which is supposedly an allusion to a movie "The Wicked Dreams of Paula Schultz" from 1968). Budd informs Elle about the inscription on the grave.
4. No matter how much his first sword might have brought him, Budd is determined to do better business this time. Elle is to bring him one million for Beatrix's sword. And so she comes, carrying a neat suitcase. There is green money in it and a black mamba to match. To make the visual image complete, what color is the suitcase?

Answer: Red

The suitcase is red, forming a nice contrast with Elle's black and white outfit, which looks the same as the one that Uma Thurman wears in "Pulp Fiction" and Pam Grier wears in "Jackie Brown."
5. Just after the mamba has attacked Budd, there comes a hilarious scene with Elle who sits with him reading some excerpts from the Internet. She confesses that there's a word she has a special preference for but rarely has a chance to use. What word is it?

Answer: gargantuan

"The amount of venom that can be delivered from a single bite can be gargantuan. You know, I've always liked that word... 'gargantuan'... and I so rarely have an opportunity to use it in a sentence."
6. The Bride was a very obedient student of Pai Mei but Elle was not. What name did she call the master, which had very unfortunate results for her?

Answer: Miserable old fool

That "bad idea," as the Bride puts it, cost her her right eye but Elle is not a person to succumb to punishment. As a revenge she killed the master, poisoning his fish heads.
7. At any rate, that very silly thing to say cost her her right eye. As to another one of Elle's misfortunes, who took out her left eye?

Answer: The Bride

Instead of killing her, the Bride deprives Elle of her last eye. The interesting thing is that Beatrix does not kill two of the Squad, Budd and Elle. They are the only two with whom she does not claim "an unfinished business".
8. One more thing about Elle - she feels more regret than relief that the Bride is dead.

Answer: True

She claims to feel regret, and not just because she will no longer be able to fight her, but because she believed Beatrix deserved better than to be killed by Budd. And indeed she does deserve better, and she gets it too.
9. Ok, on to the last enemy. Bill is very much an interesting personality and not a thoroughly insensitive one. For example, he's fond of music. What instrument do we see him playing?

Answer: Flute

When Beatrix has her wedding rehearsal, Bill is in front of the church playing the flute, and he does the same when telling the story of the five point palm-exploding heart technique.
10. Bill's cultural interests are by no means limited to music. When finally facing the Bride, he makes a lengthy speech about comic characters. Whom does he NOT mention then?

Answer: Wolverine

He seems particularly interested in the question of double-identity (which is not necessarily Wolverine's problem) and Superman appears to be his favorite character.
11. When it comes to people, Bill has original tastes as well. What does he claim to like about Beatrix's future husband, Tom?

Answer: His hair

"When I first saw him... I liked his hair." Beatrix presents Bill as her father and it appears she will have somebody to sit at the Bride's side.
12. Unfortunately, Bill and Beatrix are apparently not meant for each other, and so he has to die. She does feel somehow uneasy about it, after having applied the mysterious heart exploding technique but he is calm, quite able to ask: "How do I look?" What is her answer?

Answer: You look ready

So he stands up, walks five steps and dies. "Will She Kill Bill?" She just did. It had to end this way.
13. With Bill gone, Beatrix and BB create a happy family. In the end we see BB watching a cartoon on the TV. In the cartoon, values of a particular species of a bird are praised. Now, what bird is it?

Answer: Magpie

BB sits in front of the TV quite engrossed in the film and for the time being we do not see the Bride yet.
14. While BB is watching television, the Bride is in the bathroom crying hysterically, holding a brown toy animal. What animal is this one?

Answer: Lion

The text that appears afterwards makes reference to a lioness that has regained her cub.
15. When the story is over, we get once again the pictures of all the characters that appeared in it as a form of credits. Who is the first actor to appear?

Answer: Vivica A. Fox

The first is Copperhead whose death by the Bride was the first we were shown in Vol. 1. Then we go on through all the important appearances up to Uma Thurman.
