Mike Figgis wrote the screenplay as well as directed this film. Mike Nichols directed such hits as "Working Girl". Steven Soderbergh directed such hits as "Ocean's Eleven". Steven Frears directed such hits as "High Fidelity".
2. Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue were both nominated for Academy Awards.

Answer: True

Nicolas Cage won the 1995 Academy Award for Best Actor. Elisabeth did not receive the Oscar for Best Actress; Susan Sarandon instead won for "Dead Man Walking".
