Although he was just another "John G." his real name was Jimmy Grants. He was a drug dealer. It was John Gammell (Teddy) that set Leonard up to kill Jimmy.

Although Leonard DROVE a Jaguar, he was not the owner of that car. Jimmy Grants owned that car, and Leonard owned a blue pickup truck. We see the pickup truck in the beginning of the film, but are not aware that it belongs to Leonard until the end.

Sad words spoken by Leonard to the memory of his wife as he lay in bed with Natalie. This is a lengthy and emotional monologue spoken by the character, where he describes what it's like each time he wakes up and still believes she is alive.

He was an investigator for a big insurance company. Teddy asks him about his wardrobe while he "sold insurance" but Leonard quickly corrects him and explains that he investigated. This is also very apparent throughout the movie as we see the story of Sammy Jankis.

Teddy reveals this at the end of the movie (but time-wise, the beginning of the events). Teddy explains that he helped Leonard find and kill the real John G. "over a year ago" but Leonard did not remember. Teddy even took a picture of it, which we see in the movie.

That is only ONE of his rooms! It is the room where we first find him, though. He was staying at the Discount Inn, and we find out later that he's checked into another room on top of that one. Oh, how people take advantage of a person's handicap just because business is slow!

Burt, the Hotel Operator at the Discount Inn, described Leonard's condition as being backwards after Leonard described that "It's like just waking up". We understand how Leonard's condition feels, as the movie runs backwards.

I watched the movie several times before catching this. As everyone knows, this scene is obviously imaginary, as Leonard had no tattoos when his wife was alive. There would also be no need for this tattoo if she was alive anyway. This particular tattoo's location is on the left side of his chest, where the blank area was wherein he explained to Natalie that he's saving that spot for "when I find him." Props to you if you got this one right without guessing!

Answer: Insulin overdose

Leonard's wife overdosed on insulin, and it was Leonard that did the injecting. Leonard's description of what happened to Sammy Jankis and the death of Sammy's wife was actually Leonard's own story about his own wife. What a climatic part of the movie when we realize that Leonard was the ultimate cause of his wife's death.
