Even more strange than Lionel Twain having no pinkie fingers is the fact that he still has ten fingers. Throughout the movie Twain is showed with ten fingers on his hand, but where his pinkie fingers should be there are two regular sized fingers.

Inspector Wang has many problems with the English language. He forgets to use words like "is" and "the". This is strange since we find out later that he was raised in America.

In fact the exact opposite holds true. It is Miss Marbles who has to push around her elderly nurse in a wheelchair. In addition to pushing her wheelchair Miss Marbles also keeps her nurse warm and feeds Miss Withers her medicine.

When the cooks fails to come through with any dinner Jamesir hastily throws together a meal of franks and beans, much to M. Perrier's horror. Because Jamesir is blind, he cannot cook anything very elaborate.

Answer: Inspector Wang

Mr. Twain tests Inspector Wang's detection skills by putting a tasteless and odorless oriental poison in his wine, which Inspector Wang almosts drinks. However, only Inspector Wang has his wine poisoned because only he could detect such a toxin.

Answer: She can't hear or speak.

The only way the maid can communicate is by holding up notes that someone has written for her, because she cannot read or write English. This makes it very hard for the Butler to communicate with her since he is blind and cannot read the notes. The maid is played by Nancy Walker.

Though it is a moose head that Mr. Twain keeps shouting advice from, Inspector Wang refers to it as a cow. One of the running gags throughout the movie is Mr. Twain's hatred for Inspector Wang's habit of not using proper English terms.

M. Perrier suggests that the murderer is Twain's daughter. Dick Charleston suggests it is his accountant. Inspector Wang thinks the Butler did it. Miss Marbles thinks that Twain's lawyer did it. Sam Diamond's theory is too complex to explain. Although all five detectives come up with ingenious solutions for the murder none of them are correct.

The real solution is very simple. Twain isn't killed at all.

All five detectives have close calls with death at the end of the film. Someone puts a deadly scorpion in the bed of Mr. and Mrs. Charleston. While Mr. Charleston is explaining his solution of the murder Mrs. Charleston is constantly telling him to hurry so they can get her scorpion sting treated by a doctor.

Answer: Twain killed his poodle.

We find out that one of Mr. Twain's hobbies is to go poodle hunting. M. Perrier says that he vowed revenge against Lionel Twain because of the atrocity.
