Answer: clown and tree

Robbie is scared of the clown for the whole entire movie. He thinks it is creepy, and doesn't like its "face" watching him sleep. Robbie even tries covering the clown's face with a jacket. The tree scares Robbie because he thinks it is "watching him" and "knows where he lives".

Answer: Chairs get stacked up on the table

Mrs. Freeling is cleaning up the morning dishes while Carol Anne gets ready for school. Mrs. Freeling turns her back away from the table for only a couple of seconds and all the chairs are stacked on the table in the form of a triangle. Robbie was not in this scene, and neither was the rest of the family. The chair moves towards a wall towards the end of the day.

This is a very creepy part. Robbie looks at the clown one last time, failing to throw a jacket at it. As he falls asleep, he hears rustling at the foot of his bed. When he opens his eyes, the clown is gone! He checks both sides of his bed to see if the clown is hiding, but nothing is there.

When he sits up, the clown pops up behind him and drags him under the bed, wrapping its arm around Robbie's neck.

Answer: She gets sucked into a closet

As the tree outside is "eating up" Robbie, Carol Anne is left alone in her bedroom. Her closet starts to light up, then tornado-like winds pick up, sucking everything into the closet. Carol Anne fails at holding onto her bed rest and she is sucked into the closet. The perfect plan!

Answer: Hallway mysteriously grows longer

This part seems to be really famous. This effect can also be seen in the movie "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince". Basically the camera zooms out and pans forward at the same time. The poltergeist doesn't want Diane getting to her children!

Answer: Nobody

Nobody dies in this movie, but a few come close! Robbie almost dies twice, once by an evil tree outside his yard, and another by a possessed clown that almost strangles Robbie to death. Carol Anne comes close to dying when she's in another dimension, trapped with a horrible monster. Diane almost gets electrocuted by the stairway and doorknobs, but thankfully they don't kill her.

Answer: Count the seconds between the lightning strike and thunder

Robbie is scared of thunderstorms in the movie, and the strange events that occur (like chairs stacking themselves, or a t.v. reaching out to Carol Anne) add to the fear! Robbie learns that light travels faster than sound, so if you count the seconds in between when you see the lightning and you hear the thunder, you know how far away the storm is. Usually lightning happens in the middle of a storm, so the longer you count, the farther away a storm is.

When Robbie uses this method, he smiles in relief when he realizes he's counting longer.

Answer: It collapses on itself

After the family quickly drives away from this mess, it collapses, while floating and shining with a white-blue light, then disappears.

Answer: Build a pool

They are getting a new pool built in! Unfortunatly Diane slips and gets trapped in the pool while there's skeletons in it. Fortunatly, after struggling, she gets out!

Answer: Her bedrest

The closet starts making funny noises. Later, while the whole family other than Carol Anne are outside trying to save Robbie, the closet starts sucking like a vacuum. Carol Anne is holding on to her bed rest. In one angle, she lets go of the bedrest, but in the next shot she is holding on to it while being sucked into the closet! She eventually flies into the closet.
