Question 5 of 10
5. Now onto one of my favourite films! "Con Air" is cheesier than a marathon-runner's shoe but full of action and (maybe unintentional) laughs. The characters' plane is temporarily grounded and Francisco Cindino's about to get burnt alive. He pleads "Cy!" to the man holding the flame. What is "Cy's" reponse? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. When being menaced by Toad in the first 'X-Men' film, Storm decides to hit back. What is the not-very-exciting answer to the rhetorical question she poses: "Do you know what happens to a Toad when it gets struck by lightning?" Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. This one really sets my teeth on edge and what's more, it's from the otherwise brilliant 'Spiderman 2'. MJ (Kirsten Dunst) is trying to recreate her upside-down Spiderman kiss with her astronaut fiance John Jameson. He's obviously a fan of the method, stating; "Wow, I'm back on the moon!" This is bad enough, but what comes next? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. The 'James Bond' films have always come up with a few good puns, usually referring to how someone has just died. 'Goldeneye' includes a female baddie who enjoys crushing men to death with her legs. When she herself is caught between a tree and a helicopter and dies, what does Bond say? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. I hate to say it, but the 'Lord of the Rings' films also contain some of the finest shavings of parmesan. Who comes up with this sickly-sweet sentiment, when Frodo's on his last legs? "I can't carry [the ring] for you, but I can carry you!" Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. Oh go on, another Arnie classic to finish with. In 'Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines', what contemporary phrase does he come out with when asked if he's going to pay for a load of goods at a petrol station? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Can you name the modern classic that contains this piece of typical Hollywood nonsense? "Buckle your seatbelt Dorothy, 'cause Kansas is going bye-bye."

Answer: The Matrix

"The Matrix" is about Neo (Keanu Reeves) who finds out that everyday life is all a facade. Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) and his gang take him into the real world when they believe he could be the one to overthrow "the matrix". He learns that the world as we know it is just a screen, protecting humans from the truth that they are just being bred to power machines. Hugo Weaving also stars as the sinister Agent Smith. This quote comes from when a character called Cypher (Joe Pantoliano) gives Neo a handy tip that he's about to see the world in a whole new way by being plugged into "the matrix".

A brilliant film in all but a terrible reference to the "Wizard of Oz"!
2. In which action flick does the following piece of writing magic take place, after a man has been cut in half with a chainsaw? "What happened to Buzzsaw?" "He had to split."

Answer: The Running Man

Arnie's got to be in here somewhere!
In the futuristic sci-fi flick "The Running Man", Schwarzenegger plays Ben Richards, who is made into a scapegoat for a massacre and ends up on a reality tv show where convicted felons run for their lives and are killed live on screen by the programme's gladiators.
Of course, Arnie manages to turn the tables and starts knocking off his pursuers.
Throw in some more of his 'classics' such as "What a pain in the neck!" after he strangles someone and "What a hot-head!" after he, yes, you've guessed it, sets someone on fire, and you've got a film that could sustain this quiz on it's own!
3. From which film does this rather banal line come from, just before the main character delivers his killing blow to the baddie of the piece? "Oh, you so gotta die."

Answer: I, Robot

"I, Robot" is set in 2035, in a society where robots are commonplace and people are increasingly reliant on technology. Spooner (Will Smith) is called to investigate the suspicious death of a scientist that sends him to the dangerous truth in the heart of the robotics industry.
The above quotation comes from Spooner just before he injects lethal nano bots into the main computer, and ultimate baddie of the film, VIKI. VIKI had decided that in order to keep human beings safe, they had to be protected from each other which basically meant enslaving them all. I thought this was a pretty lame line - he could have said something like "nobody likes a clever clogs", but then, I'm no scriptwriter.
Update - By the way, I have been told that Will Smith says something very similar to this line in "Men in Black" so maybe it's not so stupid after all. Thanks, Luludeppfan!
4. Which fast-food slogan made it into "Constantine"?

Answer: "Finger-lickin' good!"

This comic-book adaptation is about John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) whose soul has been promised to Satan but who excorcises demons on Earth to try and get back in God's good books. He can cross the boundaries of Hell and teams up with Angela (Rachel Weisz) to investigate the mysterious death of her twin sister.
This awful, cringe-inducing one-liner comes from Satan's helper Balthazar (Gavin Rossdale) telling John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) how tasty he thinks he is.
It's a KFC slogan, in case you were wondering, and Peter Stormare (currently starring in "Prison Break" as Abruzzi) makes an excellent Satan.

Answer: "Onara!"

Oooh, it's so bad it's good...almost! The line is a play on the word "sayonara" meaning "goodbye" in case you hadn't got it.
"Con Air" tells the tale of prisoners on a transport plane. Cameron Poe (Nicholas Cage), a former Ranger, is being released after serving time for killing a man. He's on the same plane as lots of high-security prisoners being transferred to various other prisons. Cyrus "The Virus" (John Malkovich), however, has hatched a plan to take over the plane. Will good-guy Poe be able to stop him? What do you think?
John Cusack and Steve Buscemi also star in this highly entertaining and not-to-be-taken-seriously film.
6. When being menaced by Toad in the first 'X-Men' film, Storm decides to hit back. What is the not-very-exciting answer to the rhetorical question she poses: "Do you know what happens to a Toad when it gets struck by lightning?"

Answer: "The same thing that happens to everything else."

Surely things react differently to being struck by lightning, depending on what they're made of? Oh well, Toad is hit by the lightning Storm has conjured up and gets thrown into the river. This is definitely not the best send-off line in movie history! This is the first in the "X-Men" film trilogy (it's still a trilogy in Jan 2007). Professor X (Patrick Stewart) runs a school for "gifted children" or mutants who have extraordinary powers. Several of his top students and teachers are member of the "X-Men" and battle against Magneto (Ian McKellen), who has created a machine that will turn all humans into mutants. Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Halle Berry (Storm) also star in this successful comic-book adaptation.

Answer: "You up there with me?"

Aagh! It's just too awful. MJ certainly isn't "up there" as the kiss definitely didn't match up to Spidey's.
Luckily, the film redeemed itself with this great quotation from J. Jonah Jameson (John's father) when Doc Ock's mechanical contraption gets welded to his body; "Guy named Otto Octavius winds up with eight limbs. What're the odds?"
This second "Spiderman" film sees Spidey up against new enemy, Doc Ock, and other problems such as losing faith in himself and not wanting the responsibility of being such a superhero.
8. The 'James Bond' films have always come up with a few good puns, usually referring to how someone has just died. 'Goldeneye' includes a female baddie who enjoys crushing men to death with her legs. When she herself is caught between a tree and a helicopter and dies, what does Bond say?

Answer: "She always did enjoy a good squeeze."

Maybe I could write rubbish puns for 'Bond' films! 'Goldeneye' was Pierce Brosnan's first outing as the 007 agent. Sean Bean also stars (as a baddie - who would have guessed it?) in this typical Bond-saves-world romp. Other characters are the deadly Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen), the sweet Natalya and 'Goldeneye' itself which is the key to a weapon in space that can cause all electronic equipment to shut down. Bond also gets to drive through the streets of Moscow in a giant tank with a statue on the top of it. Pun-wise, there have been some predictable shockers in the 'Bond' series - another gem (ahem) is in 'For Your Eyes Only' when Roger Moore throws a baddie off a cliff and says "He never really had a head for heights." Oh dear.
9. I hate to say it, but the 'Lord of the Rings' films also contain some of the finest shavings of parmesan. Who comes up with this sickly-sweet sentiment, when Frodo's on his last legs? "I can't carry [the ring] for you, but I can carry you!"

Answer: Sam

This is from 'The Return of the King' when Frodo (Elijah Wood) is struggling to climb Mount Doom to destroy the ring and Sauron, after his epic journey. His life-long devoted friend (and gardener!) Samwise (Sean Astin) heaves him up the mountain to the Cracks of Doom where after a change of heart for the worse, Frodo fights Gollum for the ring. It is eventually Gollum's lust for the ring that sends him falling with it to his death.
This film won 11 Ocsars, although it is widely accepted that the awards were for the entire "Lord of the Rings" trilogy as a whole. Quite faithfully adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's most famous work, the films tell of Frodo's journey to the Cracks of Doom after inheriting the mysterious One Ring from his uncle. Accompanied by The Fellowship which includes men, a dwarf, an elf and several other hobbits, they face almost continuous perils as they try to protect Frodo and stop the ring falling into the wrong hands.
The 'Lord of the Rings' films are amongst my all-time favourites but there's quite a large helping of cheese served with a lot of Frodo and Sam's scenes together. Actually, the worst part of all three films is near the end of 'The Return of the King' when Frodo is recuperating and the remaining Fellowship members all come in and start clapping and bouncing on his bed. I couldn't put that in this quiz though, as there are no lines spoken.
10. Oh go on, another Arnie classic to finish with. In 'Terminator 3 - Rise of the Machines', what contemporary phrase does he come out with when asked if he's going to pay for a load of goods at a petrol station?

Answer: "Talk to the hand."

Don't let that put you off, the film is quite good overall! This time, Arnie is up against the better TX model robot who is set on killing future saviour of mankind, John Connor, and the Terminator too if she can, to ensure the rise of the machines happens. In the previous "Terminator" films, John Connor thinks that the technology that ends up taking over the world, SkyNet, has been destroyed but as the film progresses, he finds out things that will change his, and everyone else's lives, for ever.
Is it a bad reflection of Arnie's acting ability that in his three best films he had to play an emotionless robot?
Well, hope you enjoyed my quiz!
Please note that I am not responsible for any bad taste in the mouth that these cheesy lines may have caused.
